Let Me Get Your Thoughts On This

When I was a chunky girl and even now, food never sat around. If I bought a bag of chips, it would be gone by the end of the day. Now I don't buy chips, but if I did, I'd work my way through the bag in a couple of days. Even today, food does not go stale in my house. Am I the only one? I used to always be amazed that my skinny sister had stale food in her house. I never had stale food so I figured it was something isolated to skinny people. Maybe the inability to leave food alone long enough for it to go bad is something connected to my food addiction. At work, there are three people that I can think of off the top of my head that are at least 400 pounds. One of them has had a jar of some sort of cracker mix on his desk for at least 6 months. Another person has had a container of pork rinds, unopened, in her office for at least two years. The third person has had the same bag of chips on her desk since at least May. So what's with the fat people not eating the food in their offices? Are they not food addicts? Do they not like the food and if so, why not throw it out? I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time understanding this. Connie

I have food to go bad... but it is usually veges in the frige, not chips. The only explanation I can offer, is that the items you see are not the person's drug of choice. Maybe they are going through M&Ms while the salty treats go begging. The pork rinds are probably the guilty reminder of a failed attempt at low carb. Personally, I'd probably take care of the chips and crackers for my co-worker, "to remove the temptation" for them!!! Joy

I sure don't understand it. Even if I don't really like something, if it's on my desk long enough I'll eat it. As you know I am a School Nutrion Manager and the kids will bring me sweet tarts or some other gross candy that is sour , I have learned not to take it in my office. I have a lady that works for me that has grandchildren and I give it to her to carry them. I know I'm still addicted to food, because if I eat one sweet tart , I'll go for the good stuff next !! Have a good day. Judy

Nothing never goes stale in this house either, except maybe leftovers in the fridge too long!! We have this lady at work who is called the Candy Lady due to being the one that orders & stocks the candy isles in the store. She has this product Healthy stuff that does not sell & it's hard & stale, but, still refused to get rid of it!! So I guess it is the same kind of thing. Why keep it around if it is ole & you don't want it. Customers don't buy this stuff & she still takes up space with it, she could be using for something else. I don't get it either!! Living 2 blocks from the ocean, I have to say I throw out quite a few boxes of cracker and such. I get in moods for such things...I guess the hormonal ups and downs, carb cravings and the like. I do like the fat free potato chips (Lays Light). As far as the people in your office that have the food hanging around, the only theory I can offer is that they are 'closet eaters'. In front of others, they eat like Nicole Richie, but in private is when all the damage is done. I've read about it someplace...I can't remember where. I'm thinking that might be the worst kind of food addiction...what do you think? Joanie
