Hi guys, I need some help advice, whatever you guys have to offer. I live in Canada and its hard to get in with a doctor. My PS office called me today and they want to book my TT for either March or April. Here is the deal, I still have 20 lbs to go to get to my personal goal and I am soooo torn???? I really want this TT and I have been exercising everyday walking almost 5 miles a day and still stuck, stuck, stuck! Its like my body has said enough. Any advice I would love. I have just started today with a new diet plan, hoping this will help and I am changing up the exercise routine. Feed back would be great, especially if you have already had your TT. Thanks Rhen

I have posted this bit before, and it usually harder for women to accept then men. However, what you need to look at is your body shape. Muscle is heavier then fat. As you move to a leaner body, sometimes you lose inches and not pounds. My Dr. actually told me that I would have shown at least 15 pounds, if not 20 more of weight loss had I not added so much mass to my chest, arms and legs from working out. For me it was more about how big my waist was, not what the scale said. I'm having PS in a week. My suggestion is to keep a log on your eating just to make sure you are getting some hidden intake and continue to excercise. Take your measurements and if you are eating correctly and doing everything else I would say go for it.

I'd be willing to bet that much of that remaining weight is the skin that the TT would remove! Good question to ask the dr! Joy

Rhen, I've been struggling with 10 pounds for at least 9 months. When I went for my plastic surgery consult last week, the surgeon told me to stop trying to lose weight. What?!?! I still weigh over 150 pounds and would love to ultimately get to 140. My wls surgeon thought I should end up between 125 and 130 and I can tell you right now that ain't happening. Anyway, the plastic surgeon said that everything left on my arms and tummy is skin and I'll likely lose at least 15 pounds, which will leave me at 140. If I were to have my thighs and butt done, I'd lose another 10 at least. Maybe you don't have as much to lose as you think you do. I'd ask your plastic surgeon and see what they say. Connie

Rhen, based on personal experience I say go for it! Your PS will remove significant excess skin and losing another 20 lbs. afterwards won't effect the outcome much at all, especially if you are make that lifelong change over to regular, vigorious physical activity. It's AMAZING to see and feel the actual muscle that has built up for me this past year because of my working out regularly and hard. No amount of skin removal can make up for the very real reward of physical fitness and strength that comes from a solid, consistent exercise program. In fact, the better you can tone that muscle underneath your skin, the faster you will heal from your reconstructive surgeries. Hope this helps. Keep us posted! M.
