On the fly here, gang, but wanted to let you know I had a severe dumping incident last night -- first time in over a year. I came home from shopping with my daughter and toasted a lite english muffin with 1 tbs. of peanut butter and 1 smidge of grape jelly. Now, I've had this combo plenty in the last several months without a hint of discomfort. Last night, I was hung over the toilet for almost a 1/2 hour, in severe pain. This pouch thing simply has me baffled but I am happy for the stark reminder of what's inside of me and that I must remain diligent in taking care of "Reenie's Teenie Wonder" -- anyone else??? Love, Reenie

Reenie, Yep TAZ! still rules my world. I still occasionally dump on things that are usually safe for me to eat. I'm hesitant to try new things in public because TAZ! may not be pleased. The continuous re-educational aspects of pouch life seem to be never ending... Take care, Va

HI, It is always a nice reminder at almost 2 years out that that stinkin little puch still works. It might be on the weidest stuff, but, it does keep reminding us we are not as normal as we think we are. I wish i would dump on something. My problem is I can eat just about anything. That does get very scary. Marilyn, the Bearlady

Mine still works too. We went to Wendy's last night. Ate most of my chicken sandwich (without most of the bread) and some FF. Told Alton 10 min later....we had to go home. Was not sure which to hang over what. I never know when it will happen and with what. Sometimes things I have ate since day 1. But....it at least let's us know something is working.........

Yep. With no rhyme or reason, I still dump too. It happened last saturday morning, after eating one pancake with sugar free syrup and a slice of bacon. I was feeling particularly stressed last weekend, mostly stuff with my mother (she was mugged 2 weeks ago, but she's ok). And you're right, it lasts approximately 1/2 an hour. It's a good thing. Let's us know the system works. Hugz, Joanie

Maureen, I suspect that in your case, stress is intensifying your pouch's reactions. You may not be eating wrong at all. I used to have a steel stomach--nothing bothered me. My reaction to stress was always to eat. I notice that when I fall into that habit now, whatever I eat does not tend to settle well. You are going through a rough time. I have read your posts and hurt with you. I relate all too well to your struggles, but perhaps am a bit further along the road than you. Things are beginning to look a lot better for me in my marriage and in my life. I hope your life proceeds down a similar path. If I had any wisdom to share, I certainly would--I believe in prayer, counselling and antidepressants, in that order! Beyond that, none of this journey is logical. I really wish that the WLS surgeons had psychology degrees and were better able to prepare patients and families for the emotional changes that caught us all by surprise. Mine touched on it, but in no way communicated the extent of change or gave coping skills. Just a few thoughts. Sorry you and your pouch are at odds... Joy

So far this week, I've dumped on steak twice and salad once. I think Joy's right when she says it has something to do with tension. I don't dump as much during the day, but by the time I get home, I'm wound up from the day and up it comes. It seems like once I start dumping, I'll dump for a few days until things settle down. My surgeon's nurse said that when you dump, you irritate the pouch and it swells so the best thing to do is go back to basics for a day or two after a dumping episode. Do I listen? Noooooooo....... Hugs, Connie
