Ut oh forgot to eat

well this hasn't happened to me in a very long time. I forgot to eat breakfast! Got up this morning and jsut started the day cleaning. I had slept til 9am which was very unusal for me I'm always up at 5 or earlier but I guess I needed the sleep. The sun was shining in connecticut! Sure it wasn't that warm but it felt warmer becasue of the sun. But I forgot to eat breakfast! I was goign to eat it after my shower but started the cleaning. Then I went to do fill the gas tank and get grocerys. all of a sudden at the end of my shopping I felt kinda dizzy and weak. Not major but jsut not right. I looked at the time and it was 1! Then I remembered I'd not eaten anythign all day. So I grabbed a protein bar and a banana but I had waited so long to eat that it took forever for the feeling to go away. I have low blood sugar. I can't say that it was brought on by the surgery becasue I believe I've always had it. I just ate so much before that it didn't show up that much. And when I wouild get that hint of a feeling like that I'd be eating candy bars. I always felt so sluggish before the weight loss. Now that I have all this energy when I do get the low blood sugar blues I hits me fast. It is rare for me to get them because I've very careful of what I eat and when I eat. Today was a reminder. anyone else get these feelings sometimes?

Pammie, The low blood sugar thing happens to me if I don't eat every 3 or 4 hours. Lucky for me, I like to eat! Sounds like you had a very productive day. Isn't it great to have all this energy? I cleaned the front yard, took all the big trash to the curb and I'm ashamed to admit, finally took down my Christmas lights. Hugs, Connie

Hey Pam, You are not alone with this, I also get it if I don't eat something in 3 to 4 housrs. I was diabetic before WLS, so I think that has something to do with it. The trick is to grab quick protein & not the quick carbs. Keep those cheese sticks handy or a protein bar handy. Sound like you handled it just fine. Have a good week. Marilyn, the Bearlady
