*sigh* well, let's just say that i ran out of my anxiety meds about 4 days prior to all of this...to kind of put it into perspective. haha
friday, i was seen in the er with a migraine. they gave me a shot, but it never really went away. i was downing vicodin and extra strength tylenol like a crazy woman. i was sick - throwing up, had no appetite, my head hurt...then the withdrawal symptoms started to kick in (racing heart, tightening in my chest, nausea, shaking,...). this, coupled with the fact that until i read another post on this site, i absolutley no idea that there was tylenol in vicodin, threw me completely over the edge. i looked up some information on the net, and that got me even more worked up and worried...so i called my husband home, he took me to the er. they tested my liver (which was fine), gave me some klonopin (the anxiety/muscle relaxer med that i'd stopped taking suddenly), and sent me home. turns out it was just a rather major panic attack, but it really scared me. we stopped at a drug store on the way home to fill my med script, and to get a pill organizer for damien to fill so that i can keep a better track of my meds. he also hid the tylenol and the vicodin for me (at my request). i honestly had no idea how dangerous it could be. i've been taking vicodin along with tylenol for awhile now because of back pain or headaches...just not quite to the extent that i'd been taking them this past weekend. so...now i know (and feel a bit stupid).
in other news, i should hear something within a couple of weeks from the insurance for the tummy tuck. they denied my last appeal, and told me that i had a couple of things that i had to do before they could approve it. so, i've done those things and am resubmitting it again. ...the hoops...

Hey Kym.
Tylenol Products can not hurt you or your pouch, but, the vicodin
can. It is O.K for us to take any of the tylenol products, Its advil or
aleive kind of things that can hurt us. Re-read the list that was posted.
I think you mis-inturpeted it. Glad you are feeling better!!
Happy New Year
Marilyn, the Bearlady
Marilyn,
You're absolutely right that Tylenol is fine for the pouch. What Miss Kymber is talking about is the damage that Tylenol can do to the liver. Too much Tylenol can do major damage to the liver and Vicodin is essentially Tylenol with Codeine. When you combine Vicodin with Tylenol, you get a double whammy to the liver.
I guess too much of even a good thing can be bad for you.
Hugs,
Connie

thanks. yeah, i know tylenol is ok for the pouch (which is why i taking it). the problem was that i was taking it along with vicodin, and i was in so much pain that i wasn't keeping track of the amount of either one that i'd taken. that and the fact that i didn't know that there is a ton of tylenol IN my vicodin. too much tylenol over a period of time can cause liver damage...a tylenol overdose can cause liver failure and death. i had taken a LOT over a couple of days, and i was showing all of the signs of an od...luckily, they were also the signs of withdrawal from my anxiety med. *sigh* ...i try... lol

Hey You!! I've been wondering where you were. I'm glad you're OK and will cross my fingers for approval on the TT.
Can you send some of your anti-anxiety meds to my dog? He just ran through the house with the dog door attached to him. One of the cats must have scared him when he was outside because he ran through the dog door so fast that he pulled it loose and drug it along. Yeesh! Never a dull moment around here.
Hugs,
Connie

thanks - i'm glad i'm ok. the husband is keeping all acetomenophine products under lock and key from now on...lol between my back and my migraine, i had no idea how many i'd taken until i read another post on the michigan board and started looking into it...and went to count my pills. that's when i started absolutely freaking out. *sigh*
everything is looking really good for the tt - hell, it should - i've been going through appeal after appeal for the thing.
your poor dog...you need to keep a video camera around at all times. lol
