Pneumonia, Floods and missing vacations, Oh My!

That pretty much sums up the last 2 weeks of my life here. Mason started us off by getting sick just before I went on vacation. He was looking so deathly ill...we took him to the doctor. They saw him and they rushed him right in. They immediately started him on heavy duty antibiotics as he had pneumonia amongst other things. So I started the zinc right away and Jack got it. Then I started to feel the tickle, so I rushed around trying to get my Christmas stuff done before it hit me, then it did indeed hit. I felt my voice going, so I had a few extra antibiotics from a double course last time, took those and went to the doc the next day. He thought *I* had pneumonia due to the sounds deep in my lungs, but the xrays turned out okay. I was close though. Jack had bronchitis. I had the bronchitis and sinus infection and now my mother in law has pneumonia. So all of western Oregon is pretty much under water right now or washing away. I have missed out on a lot of the weather related crap at work, but I have to go in tonight and we are supposed to get an even bigger storm tonight. So road closures, 20 car pile ups....I'm sure that is just for starters. So I don't feel like I had a vacation at all. I seem to always manage to get deathly ill on my vacations. I'm not going to take them in the winter anymore! Just summer from now on! I'm still floating in the mid 190's. I did hit that 189 a bit ago but haven't seen it for awhile. It's my own fault. I've been lax with my eating and not trying. So I am going to try to really step it up and lose another 20 at least. I have the goal, and I will make it. And the next goal is keeping it off!!! So that's it for me. Hopefully 2006 will be a good year for everyone!!! Dina

Wow, I'm glad you're all ok, Dina. And you must be very busy at work with the weather creating all those problems on the highways...take good care of yourself, be safe...we've got a raging n'easter in CT so I doubt I'll be heading out the door today. To all my New England friends, stay warm and be safe. Dina, don't be a stranger...we need you so. Love, Maureen

Hi Dina; I'm sorry that you've had such a rough time lately and hope that 2006 is better. I'm just coming off a vacation myself and it looks like with this N'oreaster we've got going on, I get to drive to work tonight on a skating rink. I'm really learning to hate winter!! It's good to hear from you and please stay in touch. Mike
