Arrrggghhh!!! Off Topic
At the beginning of June, my father's big ass dog ran right through the patio door, shattering the glass and knocking the silly dog senseless. The dog was OK, four staples to the nose later. It took me almost 2 months and a thousand dollars to get the patio door replaced. After many reschedules and much confusion, I pitched a fit until I had the door company out here at 7:00 on a Sunday morning. Job was done, the worker dudes left and I let the dogs out of the bedroom where they had been locked up for 5 hours. My own silly, big ass dog ran straight through the brand new screen door. I can't win.

I'm proud of you. Remodeling is fun, huh? There's something very Zen about it for me. I lovethe feeling of accomplishment and being able to stand back and say, "I did that."
OK, before I get too big for my britches, let me tell you about the latest episode. I have a sun room that is my workshop for doing stained glass. It was just a glassed in porch with windows that didn't open, but little by little, I've been working on it. I pulled up the old gold shag carpet that the previous owners left behind. Ripped down the old acoustic panel ceiling and put up a wooden panel ceiling that looks pretty cool. Covered one wall with cedar slats and replaced all the windows with dual pane, low-e windows that actually open. Replaced the sliding glass door and will eventually tile the concrete floor. Night before last, I decided to install a ceiling fan. There isn't a wall switch for a ceiling light so I decided to wire in a ceiling fan with a remote control. Fan went up and I thought it looked pretty good. Certainly cooled off the porch. Went to the kitchen, got a glass of water and turned off the kitchen light with the remote control for that ceiling fan. Walked back to the porch and the light was out. Huh? Turned the light on and went back to the kitchen to get something and the kitchen light was on. Huh? Turned off the kitchen light again and found the porch light off. Both fans are on the same frequency. Arrghh! I'm going to have to take down the porch light and reset the frequency. Yeesh!
Hugs,

What's with your dogs and doors??? LOL!!!
I once had a dog that liked to scratch at doors. Once when he jumped my fence (another annoying habit) I could not find him and had to leave to make a run to the airport to pick up my DH. We returned to find a hole THROUGH our wood front door! This door had a stained glass insert, and cost $700 to replace (in about 1976!) I called my isurance company on a whim and they came out and looked and asked what happened. I said, I don't know--I came home to find it. My dog was sitting beside the hole--maybe he scratched through it??? (My dog weighed about 15 lbs). The insurance guy did not believe me and paid for the door, saying that someone had to have kicked it in!
We had the dogs front toenails surgically removed-- it was that or his head!

I have a 5 pound pomerian who has a little bitty brain. I have to be sure to keep the screen door wide open when the glass door is closed or else when I open the glass door for her to go outside she slams her little bitty head into the screen. You might think she had a concusion the way she'll shake her head and look so pitiful. not enough weight on her to break it. yet.
