I got the literal crap beat out of me!
I have been lurking around for the longest time, just reading posts as I am generally such a boring person. I am a psych nurse and a week ago Sunday I was involved in a terrible fight on the ward involving two young male patients and injured my back, neck, and left shoulder pretty badly. Basically, I guess it had not sunk in that when you lose over 300 pounds you can be thrown around like a rag doll. This is one of the very few things I have found out about losing weight that actually sucks! Oh, the other one is that all of the clothes that fit me now look like they belong to Brittany Spears! I look longingly at the big clothes that fall off me now. I guess I wore them so long that I miss them.
Hey There,
Glad to hear from you & sorry you were in such a fight, but glad you
came out of it O.K. A little sore & bruised, but, it sounds like you will
be fine. It is kind of a wake=up call to realize we are not 300+ lbs any more & should not take on thos big guys like we use to. Hope your
healing & that your Holidays are good ones. Don't be afraid to post, we
don't bite (real hard anyway) Merry Christmas to you & your family

Crystal - I'm so sorry to hear you were injured! That has to be a rough job, that's for sure. I'm a pretty tough cookie (or so I think sometimes) but I don't think I'd want to take that on....people can get way too out of control in the psych ward. And you are indeed right about being thrown around easier now.
As for your clothing, perhaps you are need to change the places you shop. I love Chadwicks of Boston - you can check them out online if you like. Might find something there that isn't too young!
Another one to check is Coldwater Creek.
