I went to my surgeon yesterday-
I am scheduled for hernia surgery on Jan 6. He said it will take 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. I will be kept over night and hooked up to the happy juice. I am glad to be able to get this behind me but I am so worried over this. He is doing this open and not laproscopy. This will be my 4th stomach surgery. Please keep me in your thoughts.
Sharon, my understanding is the hernia surgery is not nearly as difficult as our gastric bypass surgery; I had my hernia repaired at the same time as my TT and abdominoplasty and that really threw me for a loop, very long recovery period. But the hernia repair on its own is very tolerable with a fast recovery period. You'll be fine! Please keep us posted, ok? You have my thoughts and prayers for a very speedy recovery. Maureen
I was nervous too, and had the same type of open surgery. But it went well and I have healed really fast. Up your protein intake before and after--I recommend UNJURY. I think it made a big difference. I am 2 weeks out and my incision looks (and feels) like an old scar. I'm patched up better than new--no more alien trying to hatch out the front!
You are in my prayers.
Joy
