"Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Marchers"
Hello Marchers, I just wanted to take a moment and wish you all a safe and Blessed Thanksgiving, we all have so much to be thankful for!
This Thanksgiving were having our usuall dinner at Moms, so I decided I am not going to feel deprived of all the yummy favorites I love so much, pumpkin pie, home made cookies ect.I have decided to have a teaspoon of 2 special sweets that I will enjoy after dinner...First comes Tom!!! then comes the veggies....Then I will "leave the table" and not clean up like I do every year after dinner.This is where the biggest temptaion comes in for me, my sisters can do it this year...hahahahah This way there is no temptation for just one more bite.
After dinner is over try to take a minute alone and just be thankful we have come so far!
Have a wonderful Day!
Hugz Mary
Hugs Mary. I hope you have a Blessed Holiday season. So much has happened this past year to all of us. And we are all healthy and wiser. (I think.)
At the moment we are not sure who will be here. I have 3 neices with their families that are undecided. It might just be me and Alton. Regardless I am cooking. Alton is smoking a turkey and I have found out these past weeks I am the better cook. So I will gladly do the rest of the mean. (Please do not tell him.) It mainly has to do with seasoning. I use them and he seldom does.
It is not the dessets that get me, it is the carbs. But luckily I can still get sick if I over eat so I watch that as close as possilbe.
Thanks Mary;
And lots of the same to you and all of the other "Marchers". Enjoy the day; celebrate family and friends; and don't stress out about the food. I'm going to enjoy a little bit of everything and not worry about calories. The operative phrase here is "LITTLE BIT"!! You are so right that we have much to be thankful for!! Have a great day!!

We are traveling on Thanksgiving day and not making a big deal about the holiday. When we get up Thursday a.m. we will pack the truck up and head to CT. My mom is having heart surgery on Wednesday and even tho she might not be up to seeing anyone over the weekend, I still want to be 'close'. We are staying at a Hilton Garden Inn, so even if the 'grill' at the hotel is not serving something for dinner on Thursday evening, I am sure I can find a couple of frozen dinners in the lobby pantry to microwave in the room. I might even just pick up a turkey sub for Mr Mo on the way and a grilled chicken salad for me.
We have been away the last two years, and gotten out of our 'tradition' of going to the zoo with my sister and her husband and son. We did that for years, we would go to the National Zoo with our motorhome, have a nice turkey dinner, then go walk around and visit the animals. Then we would come back to the RV, have coffee and desert, then head home. We started the RV tradition after a couple of 'picnic' years and Mr Mo decreed that turkey sandwiches did NOT constitute Thanksgiving dinner. I always thought it was fun no matter what. My nephew is now 12 and still thinks that the zoo is the coolest!!! My sister had originally planned to head to CT for the holiday as well, but only with the provision that on Friday we would all go to the Bronx zoo, but she's decided to wait a few weeks til Mom is settled in rehab and then go spend time with her.
Hope you all have a blessed holiday.
Hugs, Mo
Hi, Mary!
I read something about a "three bite rule" that I am going to try on Thanksgiving. The first bite is for the taste, the second bite is what you savor, and the third bite is your final bite. We are also going to my mother's for thanksgiving, but since she is getting up in years, my sister and I (and my boyfriend) are making most of the dinner. I'm making baked ziti, corn casserole, and my boyfriend made a linzer torte and a pumpkin cheesecake. My sister does all kinds of potatoes, and my mom is doing the turkey, stuffing and salad. I'm more excited that my son is coming in from Atlanta for a few days for the holiday.
Here's wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday!
