Well. Wellllll well Welllllll Well well. Today was Tight Leather Skirt Day. No its not a new holiday but it should be! I've always for years and years wanted to wear a tight leather skirt. Oh sure I couldna worn a tight leather skirt before. I'm sure I'd seen them at Lane Bryant for 40 godzillian dollars in my size which could double as a gas grill or patio table set cover. And they'd have been nice and short too just to show off those cute dimples in the cheeks of my knees! No I never bought one I never even took one into the dressing room. Please all those peta people don't take offense at my dreams of a leather skirt. I love animals too. The leather clothing I'd wear came from animals who were old and signed up with Farmer Kavorkian. But I'm poor and couldn't even afford a leather anything! But I went to my favorite boutique (good will super store) and there on the rack for only 4 dollars was the neatest nicest cutest fake black leather skirt! It still have the originally tags on it! I thought for sure it wouldnt' be my size it just looked way to small! I looked all around to make sure no one was watching me because an older lady like me just couldn't shouldn't wear leather skirts! My only hope was that if anyone was to see me peaking at the tag they'd think maybe I was getting it for a friend or maybe I was checking to see if it was real leather so that I could file a complaint with Good will for selling real leather clothing! It was a size 10. gee I'm a size 10! Well I"m also a 6 sometimes and now wear alot of 8's too. But mostly my closet has size 10's. Dareningly I took it off the rack. Tucked it under a shirt I wanted to try on and made my way into the dressing room. Thank god attila the hun goodwill dressing room girl wasn't at her post that day! She would have taken the items I had drapped over my arm and counted and commented on each thing! It just looked so tiny. It sure didn't look like it would stretch. But when I stepped into it both legs fit! Then I inched it up and it went over the hips! Then it cleared the butt! Imagine my surprise when it zipped too! It fit. IT FIT! ooooooo I felt so daring! I could picture myself in knee high black boots strutting down the sidewalk with that music playing in the background that the BG's sang in the movie that John Travola was in. Or maybe the old song I remember as a teenager "Born to be Wild"!!!!!! YES! It fit. It was feeding a need in my soul. It got my motor running! Then I had to have the mental discussion with the good pam and the bad pam sitting on my shoulders... could you actually buy this thing? Sure I could! But would you wear it? Well I think I could. If anything I'd wear it around the house to clean! Its only 4 dollars! BUY IT! Today I got even more daring...I WORE IT TO WORK!!!!! I had a nice white sweater - tucked in - with the knee high black boots - NO knee cheek dimbles. AND get this!!!!! This is the BEST part!!!!! I got whistled at! Yup me! Old lady Pam got wolf whistled at! Twice! Sure it was the guys at work but it made me feel great! I was standing at the copier the first time they did it and I thought it was for someone else. So when I turned they did it again! You know what? I know they were doing it to make me feel good they've been great at compliments since all the weight is gone. I work with some great people but I did like it that they would do that little wolf whistle. And we all laughed and then I got an awful hot fla****urned bright red I'm sure they thought i was embarressed but no it was a hot flash to end all hot flashes! later they came up to me and said how nice i looked. I got more compliments today on this 4 dollar fake leather skirt! And you know each time someone complimented me I would get another hot flash! It must be something in the fake leather....

Hey Pam.........Good for you!!! That's one of those "Feel Good moments" that make this WLS journey so much fun!! Enjoy the wolf whistles and srut your stuff in that new skirt!! I'm glad that "Tight Leather Skirt Day" isn't some official holiday. I just wouldn't feel right putting one on!! I will say that I always wanted a leather jacket, but I could never justify killing off an entire herd just to cover my big old body. Maybe now, I'll think about it. CHEERS! Mike

Pam, GREAT story, thanks for sharing....I got the thigh high black leather boots, now I just have to find the skirt. I am turning 40 next month on Thanksgiving day and am determined to wear those boots and a leather ditty to my family Thanksgiving dinner. I will shock them all. For now I just keep telling my husband when I come home with the new clothes....."I refuse to wear that old bubba stuff that I use to HAVE to wear" They make such cute clothes in size 6 and 8, even my husband enjoys looking at the stores with me. ENJOY those whisltes, you've worked hard for them. Janelle
