I'm back!
Hi gang! Just got back from vacation on Friday, we went on a cruise to Bermuda. It was beautiful but WAY too much food. I really need to get down to business this week, and will wait a week before I get weighed...I wish they had a cruise that didn't feed you so much. The heavier people were loving life with all that food, and by the 3rd day, the sight of food was making me sick. Now, I don't even feel like eating. It was most definately a challange for us WLS people. I have to admit, I dumped twice which served me right. In my mind, dumping is actually a good thing. It puts eating in perspective. Both times had to do with the fact that we were so busy doing onboard and offshore activites that by the time I got to eat, I wolfed it down, and back up it came. It wasn't pretty, but I felt better in about 1/2 an hour; not to mention that I have the most understanding boyfriend in the entire world. I do admit I could have made better food choices, but I was still never able to finish a meal and the waiters were concerned, thinking I didn't like the food. It was my first ever cruise, and we are planning another one for next year, and I would absolutely make better food choices next time. I have a lot of catching up to do--lots of posts to read to see how everyone is doing.
Take care!

Welcome back Joanie!!
It's great to have you back with us. I'm glad that you enjoyed your cruise. I'm not sure that I could handle all of those food choices. It sounds to me like you did rather well despite a few problems. I've never been on a cruise, myself, but from what I hear, they are non-stop "food fests"!!
CHEERS!!

Connie, I had to admit I thought of you more than once....your phrase...."praying to hurl" came to mind when I was grazing at the buffets. Thankfully, I was able to zip my size 8 jeans on the last day of the cruise, so maybe I didn't do too bad. We did look at some of the European cruises for next year, but me never having been in Europe, I think I'd like to see more of it when I go, rather than the short stints the cruise lines have to offer. One thing I do have to say is that the ship had an amazing gym...better than most I've seen, and I did go twice. Another cruise tip----never use the elevators, always use the steps. That way you burn off calories...and this ship had something like 14 decks, so that worked out in my favor somewhat.
Take care!
Joanie
