just yakking
ok here is a ahum sensitive issue....um wellllll...anyone have any issues with..gas? i could clear a room. my daughter says its the good food i eat that causes it and not to complain but gee****s nasty. I remember reading something about how gastric by pass people could get something named gastris? not sure of the spelling and i dont' know what it is but i have a sneaking suspicion that i might have it!
Oh, it's terrible! I thought this would get better as I got further out from the surgery but it's just awful! I have to keep my office door closed all the time at work -- and then when people knock and come in, I can see the look of horror cross their faces as they take in the fumes! My 12 year old son was cracking up the other night when he called me a "gas addict" -- it was too, too funny...This is really a terribly embarrassing by-product of the surgery -- anyone else have any thoughts on the matter and solutions to the problem??? Thanks for "clearing the air" on this subject that is otherwise kept in the closet, Pammie! Maureen
Well......believe it or not, I'm doing a bit better in this area! I still am much "gassier" than I was Pre-Surgery, but nowhere near as grim as I was a few months ago. I was getting to the point where I was considering offering my services to the military for biological weapons research!! LOL Things have been slowly, but surely improving. I attribute this to 2 things:
1) I'm now getting all of my protein from solid food.... no more wretched shakes.
2) I started eating a lot more fiber to ease the constipation. The easier B.M.s and an easing of the gas production seem to have followed. I'm not sure if this is the answer, but it seems to be working for me.

OUST.....That is my answer and my solution.
I can now win if there was such a contest. Maureen...I do not have a door to close. So I make numerious trips to the bathroom. And do what they call "exta courtesy flushing". I also keep Imodine chewables handy. They help settle things down as well.
I was told at one time, the more carbs, the more gas.
My poor boyfriend bought me "Beano". I can tell you that even though it keeps the gas away, it blows my pouch up like a pregnant woman, so I'm not taking them anymore. I told him to stop with the Cuban food...he loves beans and rice and even though it is good for you....PHEWWW!!! I don't know what to do about it....but it is what it is, I guess. I am very very gassy...especially when I sit down and relax or when I go to bed at night.

Pam,
You're hysterical. I used to be a champion belcher and am frustrated because I can barely get out an urp.... on the top. The South end is a tiotally different matter. I'm not so much smelly, but Lord am I mighty. These suckers are LOUD. A couple of times when I was working late I let one rip, thinking I was the only one left on the floor, only to hear someone giggle outside my office. They're just jealous. Not everyone has a tuba butt.
Connie
ha haaa... connie you were caught.... that is too funny. thats right they are just jealous. Yeah I get that poots as well. Not as bad as it use to be. I think I need to eat more fruit! Look out ozone! there are times i actually need gas x because it just wont come out. eeep! Get all bloaty! - so attractive LOL!
