It's Gonna Be a Great Weekend!

The last couple of weeks have just been brutal. At work, there was another manager who just lost her mind and for the last two weeks has been making me a target of her insanity. Yelling at me in meetings and calling me names in front of my staff. Incredibly horrible e-mails sent to me with copies to everyone from the secretaries to HR managers. She started taking things out on my staff and that put me over the top. You can say what you want about me, but when you start attacking my staff, I start getting upset. She had a project due yesterday and upper management didn't want to fire her until it was done. I've spent most of my work time the last couple of weeks talking to upper management, documenting and calming down my team. She was finally fired yesterday. Took long enough. Through all of this, I normally would have worked out to relieve stress, but the gym I've belonged to since 1990 closed with no warning. I've given all of my exercise equipment away and it's still over 100 degrees here so too hot to walk outside. Well stress eater that I am, I nibbled my way from 6:00 pm to bedtime every night. Somehow I managed to not gain weight, but my colon is in knots. As soon as I got the word that the psycho was fired yesterday, I left work and joined a gym. As soon as I'm done here, I'm off to workout. I'm back on track and feel so much better. Have a great weekend, you guys. Hugs, Connie

Wow Connie, I thought the Casino World Had maniacs in them. I think you beat that. At least she is gone & before your staff quit or you. Your Monday will look so much better to you than last week did. I know you will get back on track. Take a deep breath & say I CAN DO THIS!! You are great & know that stress is our enemy, always will be. At leaset you are already trying to correct it instead of continuing on the old path. Have a Great Weekend! Marilyn, the Bearlady

Hey Connie, I'm sorry that you had such a rough time, but I have to say that you can be my boss any time. I admire a boss that goes to bat for her people and try to do it myself. I hope that things calm down now that the NUT CASE is gone!! Please remember to take care of yourself while you are taking care of your workers. I hope that the new gym meets your needs and also hope that the old colon loses its knots!! Be well, my friend. Mike

Thanks, Mike. I liked the new gym equipment-wise, but it's a meat market. My old gym was a women's only gym, but this is the full montey. I'll get used to it. I was going to go to the gym this morning, but I've been trimming trees and hedges and mowing instead. Tomorrow is large trash pick-up day so I'm trying to get everything out there that I can. I have to interpret at a church in a couple of hours and then maybe I'll make it to the gym this afternoon. How's your shoulder? I think about you every time mine gives me grief. Connie

Ah chalk it up to your life being that much more interesting! Wow though... How stressful is that... there ought to be a show "When managers go insane..." boy would that be a hit! I'd love to see it on screen.. LOL! too much! Sounds like you are back on track girl with that maniac not breathing all over you... she knew what was comming and just decided to go out with a bang. What comes around goes around right? ((hugs)) Elizabeth M
