Hi everyone...
It seems like I only post when i have a problem...but to let you all know I do read the posts daily and have followed everyone's progress...which to say you ALL are doing GREAT!!! I started out as a lightweight but to date have only lost 82 lbs argggg. but hey its something and I can definatly tell a difference. Anyway....my problem of the week.....last month I posted that I thought I had an incisional hernia, welp come to find out after MUCH research and a visit to my primary Dr. I think its my gallbladder acting up, just this past weekend I was really close going to emergency room for pains but as of Monday I felt abit better. I have an appointment with a specialist tommorrow so please say a prayer I dont want to get cut on again. My question...has anyone since surgery had any problems with their gallbladder? If so what was done and what were your symptoms? Any responce would be appreciated. And again congratulations everyone...you all are doing WONDERFUL and the pictures of everyone look really nice...BIG DIFFERENCE!!! Now back to my lurking mode
I had to have my gall bladder taken out on August 2. I was having a very sharp pain under my right breast that would hurt for a few mins then go away, and then sometimes it would last for an hour or more. I was scheduled to have it removed on September 1st but the pain was too much so I pushed it up. The only way I could control the attackes was to cut down/out the fat in my diet. That helped for a little while but obviously not long enough to make it to the Sept 1st date. The surgery went without a hitch and I walked out of the hospital about 6 hours after I'd walked in. I was off work for 2 weeks and have just now started getting my energy back. I haven't had anymore pain since it's been out and for that I'm greatful.
Hope this helps a bit.
Lori
Hi Kim. I had my gallbladder removed nearly 18 years ago. My symptoms were extreme pain right in the center of my chest, followed by vomitting stuff you don't want me to describe. I had advanced gall bladder disease and I was admitted from the ER with surgery performed the next morning. The pain was like a heart attack, crushing and would not go away. Keep us posted on your progress and best of luck to you. Maureen
My former husband had severe gall bladder pain 11 mos out from his surgery--they took it out, he developed complications and in the end died very unexpectedly from a hidden ulcer that was in the tied off stomach. The cat scan and other tests couldn't detect it and in the end he bled to death-(in ICU)--they wish they had checked the pouch and tied off tummy--but they didn't! Be sure they do! The gallbladder disease was so advanced he developed gall bladder pancreatitis, all with having a normal gall bladder at the time of the bypass surgery. Take care of u, get it resolved quickly...Terry
Hi Kim;
I haven't had gallbladder trouble yet, so I can't help you there, but I have 3 comments on your post:
1) 82 lbs. is hardly "failure" in my opinion....it's a great accomplishment!!!!
2) Why go back to "lurking"?? Stay in contact with us.....We would love to hear what you have to say!!
3) You are in my prayers.....I wish you well with your gallbladder troubles.
Take care and be well;
Mike
