I have no kids and am planning on Having a tummy tuck...
Hello every one.. I'm here for some advice... I have no kids I will be 30 this comming Ocober... and am really concidering on having a thigh lift my arms repaired a liposuction and a Tummy tuck. I have no kids would love to have kids some day but i'm not in a realationship where kids are even an opetion at this time.
I know that alot of people say you should wait to have kids then have the tummy tuck. But here is my thing. I feel that I would have a better self esteem if I'm happy with what I see in the mirror and it will give me more confidence to put my self out there and possibly meet someone that I could possibly have a future in and have kids with after a couple of years. But people tell me that would be a waste of money because i might need another tummy tuck after I have kids.
I really don't mind the money part as long as I feel better about my self. Please I need your input... Now my question is does any one know of any dangers, if it's possible or how long I would have to wait to have kids?
Thank you, Vanessa
Vanessa,
You look wonderful!! Have you tried the plastic surgery board? I think there are a couple of women there who have the same concerns as you and I know I've seen posts from women who have had a tt prior to getting pregnant.
I'd go ahead and have a consult with a plastic surgeon and ask them.

I waited my whole life to do what I wanted to do and only had regrets. I say go for the tuck and deal with the issue of kids later. I have heard (but please check for yourself) that you can get pregnant but they want you to wait a certain amount of time after a tuck to do so. And if you don't gain too much weight, you shouldn't have hanging skin issues. I saw the journey of one woman who accidentally got pregnant shortly after her tummy tuck. Her belly was really tight near the end of the pregnancy but she did fine. She had a very compact baby belly and did not have any skin hanging issues after she had the baby. I suspect doing that could increase risk of hernias and enlargened scars, but she did okay. So in light of that, I would say to research it well but do what you want that makes you feel good. If you do have hanging skin later, then you can always tuck again if need be.
Good luck!

I'm currently pregnant and visit the Post op pregnancy board alot lately. There are a few women there that are complaining about major stretch mark issues after a TT. Lucky me I opted not to get a TT or any "work" done until after all my babies are here or when I'm 40... whichever comes first (I'm 34 now) and I'm 34 weeks pregnant (almost at the end) and no stretch mark issues here at all. Your plastic surgeon will tell you to wait another 1-2 years before trying to conceive after a TT.... that seems the norm that the other board is mentioning. Here's the link to the post op preg board... http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/amosforums/postop_pregnancy/
All my best-
