55 is coming closer

55. 55 years old. its the count down. all of a sudden i realized that i will be 55 in december of this year. 55 double 5 this is 5 years older than 50. i handled 50 real well. its a number. right? didn't bother me at all. i was 50 big deal. 55 is almost 60. 55 in some places gets you the senior discount. fifty five. i like the number better than the spelling the spelling makes it seem older. ok enough for that now. i've maintained the weight hovering in the 160's. i'm happy. content with wearing 10's yes i'd like to get into the 8;s again like the first year of surgery but with the 10 pounds i'd gained back and maintaining i really can't complain. i get complements from people who never knew the big pam. who think that this is the only pam. and for now it is the only pam. but they do not know that I iniside am fat. i will never think of myself totaly as thin. i will alwasy look in a mirror and see me before. that is unless i pass a mirror and forget for a minute who that person is. sometimes i catch a glimse of the little me. i'm finding that when i made it to the size 10's i was always changing my clothes. i'd come home and night and put on a different outfit for play every night. for work i'd always be sure to not wear the same outfit twice in a month. i'd change it with a scarf of switch tops i enjoyed doing the outfit game. it was fun! now after 3 years of it i come home at night and put my over alls on. i have two pair. i love them both. they are comfy i am relaxed and hell i'm 55. people my age need to dress NO let me say this again! People my age Can dress anyway they want! I LOVE MY OVER ALLS! I look cute in them. when i wear my sneakers i look like a very young 55. the legs can be rolled up and i can wear sandles. i'm hip. a hip youngish 55 55. anyone ever wear those new plastic shoes that look like big boats? my sister is 60 she wears them all the time even in the winter. she swears by them. says she's 60 she can wear what she wants. i think she's gone alitlte potty in the head. she wears this little plastic things on them she's got so many different pairs in different colors and each pair has a theme for the little dot thingys tht you put on them. golf theme, flower theme, she has a pair of bright green with christmas theme. i think i'm alittle afraid to become 60. while over alls are cool. those plastic shoes do not look cool to me. if i refuse to wear them maybe i won't turn 60?

Hey, I'm 59 and the 50's have been so much fun, I can't wait to see what the 60's have to offer!! In the 50's I've had lights run up me , down my throat, I've gone through the change of life. I've got carpol tunnel syn., rotator cuff problems in my shoulder . But you know what I really am enjoying life !! I am almost 60 and if I want to wear red and purple and only eat pickles and ice cream and spit on the side walk (not really ) who cares!!! I can be me and do anything I want to. I am a school nutrition manager and I am out of work for the summer , it's 3:30 A.M. and I'm playing on the computer!! I'll sleep till about 10 or 11 in the morning . My husband went to bed at 9 P.M., he'll get up at 5. I used to think I had to go to bed when he did, and I will when school starts back, but I'm old enough to do what I want to now!!! When I retire next year I will be a free woman!! You know I never really liked myself till now, getting free banking and a discount when I eat out ( which is at eat once a day) is really great. So enjoy everyday you're 50 and look forward to the 60's , maybe they really will be fun!! Have a good day. Judy
