Camping
this weekend my boyfriend and i went camping. we had such a great time. he cooked foil dinners. which consisted of a burger, pototo, carrots and onions layered in aluminm foil. cooked in the coals of our camp fire. it was awesome! the meal was cooked all the way through and tasted great. all the grease had cooked out of it and i drained mine alittle bit more. then he made butternut squash in some more foil. wow it was fantastic! dessert was watermelon. then a walk around the shetuck river then home to the tent to sleep!
camping was alot more fun since the last time i went 3 years ago. i am now able to more around the little 2 person tent and change my clothes in it where as before i had to go to the bathrooms to change. moving around is so much easier when i'm 120 pounds lighter!
I use to not be able to move around that little tent. just trying to get in and out of it was such a chore. i'd have a steel folding chair next to the door way of it so that when i would have to leave the tent i'd back out of it on my hands and knees then grab the chair to pull myself up. all while i'd be moaning and groaning cause everything just hurt to move. then trying to use those porta potties was a nightmare. Oh sure they are still anightmare but just a regualr now. camping use to be laying around eating. now its hiking and eating normally! we walked all over the place. i was fine no compaints and i could still talk and talk and talk even while walking!
it use to be if i walked a long ways i'd get this rash on my ankles and calfs. it was bright red and would burn and hurt. the blood vassels were very close to the skin and ouch it wasn't fun! we walked 5 miles and my feel didn't even hurt! I zipped in and out of that tent without the metal folding chair by the doorway too!
just chalk this up to another good thing i can now due because of surgery. i feel like i am living life now instead of watching others live it. O and my sleeping bag now fits too!!!!!!
Hi Pam;
Isn't this new life great??!! I can really relate to what you are saying. I find that getting in and out of my kayak is so easy where as in the fat old days, I needed someone to steady the boat while I struggled to shoehorn my bulk in and out! Also I'm enjoying going to the beach without feeling like the whole world is shaking thier heads in disgust at my fabulous form! I now love to walk and it's great to walk without pain or gallons of sweat etc. ENJOY!!!!
