Talbots, Ann Taylor, Jones of New York, Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren
ahhhhhhhh i am so poor lately and am working hard to remindy that. Well I had 15 extra dollars and hadn't been shopping in months. Its a struggle and I'm working a part time job to clean up some bills plus save for a new car. These gas prices have hit me extremely hard. I drive all day for a living. Anyways sat & sun I work part time. It will all work out. But I was so in the mood to go shopping and the 15 extra bucks was burning a hole in my pocket. What can you buy for 15 bucks? not alot. Maybe a shirt at walmart. Maybe something on a clearance rack. My friend Susan said to me you know Good will in Groton is relocating and right now today was 75% off day. I love good will and consignment shops. I've gotten some great buys there but today was the best! The two of us stopped there on our way home from work. For $11 I got a dress & a sweater from Talbots, another dress from Ann Taylor, a sweat suit from Jones of new York, 2 Liz Clairborne shirts, and this neat western style Ralph Lauren shirt. It was awesome! I even had 4 dollars left! All of these things were like brand new. Now they are in the laundry except for the things I dropped at the dry cleaners. I am wearing things I never could afford before. I dress better now than I ever did. What amazed me was the amount of teenagers there picking out things for school.
Don't get me wrong I love to shop at the malls too. I've gotten some great buys at Nordstrums, Macys, or Filenes, on clearance racks.
I'm just so thrilled with my bargains today!
Since surgery, my girlfriend introduced me to yard selling. It was just something I had never done. I found out that I really enjoyed it. Especially clothes that I could only wear for a little while.
Recently I have been very lucky. Two different women, one from church and one from the office have offered me clothes. And I am not too embarrassed to accept them. The funniest part was when they offered me the clothes, I thought I would never be able to fit into them. I thought, "There is no way that I was the same size of them". Low and Behold, most of the clothes fit. And theses are not Wal mart specials. I am so Blessed.
Pam,
I love Jones of New York. That brand just seems to fit me better than anything else. I shop the end of year clearance sales and discount stores and can usually find things greatly reduced. I bought a couple of pairs of Jones slacks for 7.00 the other day. Isn't shopping great these days?
