Welcome, Dawn and congrats on your great success. I had abdominoplasty with a major hernia repair almost 6 weeks ago. My advice to you is to make sure this is what you really want; the surgery is very painful with a long period of recovery - I'm still wearing the binder. Good luck! Reenie

Hi Darlene, I also had abdominoplasty 4 weeks ago and had a hernia repaired at the same time. The whole thing was a little more than I'd prepared for. I thought I'd bounce back real fast considering I'm in such good shape now - had that wrong! I took 2 weeks off work and then started teaching part time - only about 3 hours a day the 3rd and 4th week. I was still needing naps the 3rd week for sure and into the 4th. The results are great - although I still have a lot of swelling and a little roll above the incision line. But the process is a little daunting. Just be prepared to really take it easy, sleep a lot, and not be comfortable for a quite a while. Nobody should go into this lightly. Good luck! I look forward to hear how you're doing. Gail

Darlene, I am 3 days post op for a anchor cut TT. Had a great doctor/hospital experience but not sure I would recommend this. It is much more that open bypass, more painful, more drains, but at least you can eat and the flab is gone. donna
