Reenie i decided to try to do one thing today that i couldnt do before just liek you had said on your last posting. But by the time I read this it was late and I was at a loss as to what I could do. I'm so busy and tonight was a meeting night. I ran up my stairs to change into my new size 8 casual jeans and then ran to the car & off to the meeting i went. while I was thinking I was sitting with my leggs crossed with one foot tucked behind the calf of my leg, waiting for the meeting to start I crossed my arms over my chest and grabbed ahold of my sides. What could I do tonight that i couldnt do before I wondered? I bent over & picked up my pocket book off the floor and set it next to me on the space between me & the arm of the chair. Then I decided I better hop up & and run up the stairs to grab a water from the machine before the meeting started. One of my friends was heading there too so we gabbed all the way to the top. Then it was rush down stairs to get back to the meeting. There was this cute guy there so I just had swish my tuchsy just alittle bit. hehehe I'm abit of a flirt. All of a sudden it hit me! Everything I had done between reading Reenie's post and getting to the flirting part was things I couldn't do before! If I'd ever tryied to cross my legs let alone tuck the foot behind the calf I would have split myself down the middle for sure I would have broken something important. And bend over to pick up the pocket book? phuleaseeeee i would have had to take a blood pressure pill. Hey did you catch the one about tucking my pocket book next to me in the seat of my chair??? it would ahve had to have its own chair before. Then rushing up while talking with a friend up stairs????? I could still talk let alone breath at the top! Rushing down the stairs was never in my vocabulary before either. No kind of rushing unless it was dinner time was on my list of things to do. And while I've always been alittle bit of a flirt now I get some results! Always a pleasure! If I'd ever tried to swish my tooshy before I might have knocked down 1/2 the people in the room and some walls too. life is good.

Pamela, You crack me up. I find that I'm starting to take things for granted and I don't want to do that. I just presume that I will fit in any chair now. Remember when we used to size up the chairs when we walked in a room to make sure they would hold our weight? I remember standing up with one of those plastic patio chairs still stuck to my butt and having to pry it off my ass with both hands. Funny now, not so funny then. I park in smaller spaces now. Not because I have a smaller vehicle, it's the same one I had before surgery, but I don't have to open the door as wide to get in and out. Before, I had to circle the parking lot to find a spot close to the door as well as wide enough to allow me to get my vehicle in and open the door to it's full width. Connie

Yup, This was a good idea. The stairs is a big thing to me. I never use to take stairs now I take them whenever I can & get mad when I have to take the elevator. So I guess things have changed A LOT when you start & think about things. Thanks Marilyn, the Bearlady

Pam, Last night I was at my sister's house for a family dinner. While the adults were talking around the table, I went to play with the kids. We ended up playing a game where my niece and nephew, who are two and four, pushed me across the kitchen, around a couple of corners and down a long hall while I sat in a rolling desk chair. They were putting me in "jail". My 2 year old niece could push me all the way by herself. Once they put me in jail, I would "escape" and chase after them in the chair, rolling down the hall while they ran and screamed. Before surgery, there was no way they could have pushed nearly 300 pounds around the house and no way I could have chased them over and over again. Connie
