haveing weight gain
Frances, I had my surgery on March 31, 2004. April of 2006 I had gained back 20 pounds, so I went back to my doctor's office , they were having a "Back On Track" program. I lost 17 pounds , then gained it back. For the last year I have lost and gained that weight over and over again. I know how to lose, but I just can't stay on it.
If I eat mostly protien and keep my carbs below 50 a day, I can lose 3 to 5 pounds a week. But, if I ever eat bread, fruit or sugar I go off on an eating benige.
I'll pray for you because I know how hard it is to lose. Judy
HI Frances
I think we are all dealing with some weight gain at this point. Unfortunately it is hard work to keep it off at this
point. Our pouch still works like it should, but, the pouch
starts to drain too quickly from being oversized & we don't
stay full very long. They are doing a new procedure is some
areas of the country called "stomaphyx" only 5 Docs in the US
are doing it & it costs $5000-$8000 to do. It is all done without cuttin you open. My Doc was doing them & retired yesterday, so they are training one of the other Doc's in his
office to do it. I want it a lot, but, don't have the money.
I have lost about 13 lbs of my regain, but never got to my
goal. All I can suggest is go Lo-carb, exercise & drink more
water & see if you can get the weight to go the other way.
Good Luck!! I am not sure this helped any, But know you are
not alone!!
