Hi all, this is a quick update on my recent abdominoplasty; tomorrow will be one week out and I had my 1st follow up with the PS this afternoon. He removed all my staples and my 2 drain tubes -- ouch! If I were a cat, I would have had to have been peeled off the ceiling! I am told I am healing beautifully with the exception of my new bellybutton - showing some signs of infection and I need to keep a careful eye on the little bugger. I remain more amazed at the fact that I now have a waist! Who knew? Anyway, the pain gets better every day, may even try to venture into the office on Wednesday. I am scheduled for the breast lift on 8/23, and will probably do a self-pay brachiotomy (arms) the following day right out of my PS's office as an outpatient. Yeah, out-of-my-mind patient - then I think I'm done, or at least if I get the legs and butt done, it will be way down the road. The arms will cost me approximately $2,200 out of pocket and I can do this on a payment plan. Still going back and forth about whether or not to get this done, what do you think? Has anyone had their arms done? Are you happy with the procedure? Any insight is greatly appreciated. I don't want to go through the pain and expense if the "improvement" is marginal. Good night, my friends, sleep well -- a special good night kiss to Marilyn and Kymer...we're here for you. Love, Reenie

Hi Diana - it's official, you are no longer a lurker, congratulations! Good to hear from you. Yes, my insurance is covering both the abdominoplasty (including the panilectomy, which was a substantial amount of work!), and my mastopoxy (or however you term that) -- breast lift. I had a history of records proving medical necessity due to severe and chronic skin rashes and consequential infections due to excessive redundant skin both in the abdominal region and under the breasts. I had very graphic photos of the rashes and since my PS tells me insurance very, very rarely covers the breast lift, we both assume it was the photos that convinced them of medical necessity - and an incredibly strong letter of support by my PCP. Good luck and let us know how it all turns out for you! Best, Reenie -- P.S. We had surgery on the same date!
