8 Lessons From My Sick Bed
Hey Connie,
I have been away for awhile Yahoo decided I could not get the March
Board anymore, so now that it is fixed I just got caught up mysef.
Glad to hear you are back among the living. Everyone is right,
only you can make this bad thing very funny to read about. Hang in
there & continue to get stronger. WE DO NEED YOU AROUND HERE!!!!

Connie,
I'm sorry that you got so sick and I am glad that you're recovering ok. Thank god your sister lives nearby. I think we all need to closely monitor our ingrained tendency to not want to bother people, and to minimize our discomfort and think it's not so bad. My roommate from college, who spurred me to have WLS, wound up with a twisted bowel at about 27 months post-op. She had gut-wrenching (no pun intended) pain on three occassions over the span of three weeks before finally going to the E.R. for the fourth event. She did call our surgeon about it one or two of the times, but she was following this personal guideline that if the pain passed in four hours, she was okay, and so she never pressed him. Anyway, by the time she went to the E.R., he didn't even bother to xray or scan her, they went right into the O.R., and he wound up REMOVING four inches of her intestines, that was basically rotting away inside her.
Maybe whenever the next one of us gets ill, because it's likely you're not going to be the last one, maybe we can remember your experience and my friend's experience to remind eachother we're NOT hypochondriacs and something really could be wrong - seriously wrong.
Recover quickly, Connie. Thank you for telling us what's been up.
Love,
Jen
Connie -
I always knew you were full of **** but this is taking it a little too literally! ;o)
Yes, I'm still around. I lurk often and stick my head in to say "hi" occasionally. Your posts always brighten my day. You have such a positive attitude about everything. You really amaze (and amuse) me!
I'm so sorry that you've been so ill. It's amazing what our bodies try to tell us - too bad we don't listen very well at times. I hope they can find out what is causing the bleeding and get it under control before you get any sicker.
I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you and I'm sending good thoughts your way. Take care of yourself, sweetie! Fire that greedy shrink, have a little chat with your cats as to who is the boss, and give your sisters a big hug for taking good care of you.
Get some rest!
Love ya!!

I would like to add a lesson that I've learned from your posting...make sure to put on a good pair of depends adult diapers cause for sure i'm gonna wet my pants from laughing.
I too am ashamed to say that your horror story made me laugh. You have such a great way of making something that was terrible just sound so funny. I'm very glad to hear that your better.
For along time I had issues with the toilet butt ring but it seems like it goes it spurts. hum let me phase that better. sometimes i can't go sometimes i can't stop. dont' know what i do that makes it different. I'm thrilled with everything is ok. For a while there i had to use supositorys once a month. then for about 3 months i was looking for plugs. now things have evened out so i'm regular with not alotta straining. wow I cna't get over what reenie's doctor told her about straiining and the TT. Just wanted to say i'm glad your feeling better and hope that continues. good luck and god bless, pam
