ok ladies...now that we have some excess skin hanging everywhere. How are you dealing with shaving? I have cut myself now several times and I am getting irritated. TMI alert here! I also have the line of hair going from my belly button down and now that my lower belly hangs it rubs and doesn't get a rash but itches all the time. any advice on whether I should nair it? or not? I am not going to shave it cause that would be scary with my past with the razor. if I scratch my itch do you think I could make it look like a rash???? sorry for the graphic images but I gotta have some advice here! thanks! nic 291/161/???

First, it's likely that the itch is a yeast infection not yet broken out into a rash yet. I've done the same thing - avoided scratching and if you do start scratching it will turn into a rash. I guess because right now it irritates the surface of the skin, but if you scratch it causes little breaks and gets down deeper. I'm guessing here. Shaving - I do shave below my belly button each time. I don't have a lot of folds to deal with but I do have one good size "flop" of a pannus. I just pull the area taut so it is smooth before I shave. That is the best I can think of to do for something like that. I dunno about Nair if you are having itchiness going on. It might make it worse. They do make a razor that has wires over the top so you can't cut deep. It reduces nicks and cuts. I can't remember which one it was but I had one a few years ago.

I feel your pain...LITERALLY!!!!! I too am fighting the battle of the lose skin vs shaving. The legs aren't a problem but geesh under the arms is scarey! Now that I feel comfortable wearing sleeveless (!!!!!!YES!!!!!) I do want to have that area clear. My underarm "wings" aren't too bad as long as my arms are down. Besides now that I'm thinner I've watched to see what other thin women my age look like and do. Theres not a whole lot of us who go flailing our arms up in the air unless theres something really really cool that we are flaping about. Then if its really really cool enough that our arms are up there flapping seems like all the other people flapping their arms are more concerned with the reason they are flapping! So what the heck I wear the sleeveless! I worry that if I nick under the arm it can hurt and its not an area that gets alot of air so it could get an infection. I did have a hard time with bathing suit shaving. My inner thighs are really bad. If I had the money that is one place I would spend it on. Even though I don't let it keep me back from wearing a bathing suit. The rash if you get one make sure to take pictures and to document and you probablyu should go to your doctor too. Thats something that will be good for you if your planning on a tummy tuck. good luck and god bless, pam

Nic, As usual, I'm going to share way too much information. So now that I can see what I like to refer to as my pretty place, I find that I have some grey hair. Well, that's not attractive. So I decide to shave. Some things are best left covered because now I find that I have stretch marks in places that have never seen the light of day. Who knew that part could get chubby enough to have stretch marks? I have no advice.... just wanted to share and gross the rest of you out. Connie

LOL! OK...as long as I am not the only one dealing with these issues! LOL I sooooooo want to not have to deal with shaving but alas...it's hard being beuatiful! I will look for a better razor maybe that will help! And if I itch enough to make a rash I will certainly take pics and go to the doc! Every little bit helps right??? thanks again! Nic 291/161/???

HI Nic I just want to advice you that nair will make it so much worse (some people do that to get plastic surgery) if you use it under the apron of extra skin. What I do is place a paper towel under it to help obsorb the excess (might as well say it) sweat. You can also use antipersirant in a spray to help with that issue as well. As the other post said this is probley a yeast infection ask your doctor for cream also have it documented by your physician. This way if you are interested this will help to enable you to get the Tummy Tuck or Panniculectomy. My doctor said the best thing is besides the yeast cream is keeping it clean and dry. I should be having PS within the next month for this problem but I am pre op and BC BS of Alabama had desided to no longer pay for WLS with contracts less than 50 employees so even though I just finised up my 6 month diet right now I am out of the game for the WLS. So I figure if they want pay for this hey can help to pay for a lot of the co-mibities obesity has cause If you need to email me anytime and I can send you so sites. Angel Hugs Tegan Angel
