Welcome, Stacy, and congratulations on your phenominal success. I have not heard of what you're going through but once again, a member of our Board brings a new perspective to the reality of our new lives in terms of health and longevity. This is not just about taking weight off and keeping it off! We must be vigilent about the medical issues and after-effects of the surgery and the weight loss. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery; please keep us posted. I am going in for hernia repair on July 5 and I am very afraid - they are doing the abdominoplasty at the same time and for some reason I am really scared. May have something to do with the fact that my mother had hernia surgery when I was a kid and they botched it -- she was very pouchey for the rest of her life (looked pregnant) AND she lost her belly-button! That was very weird to see her without a belly button. Anyway, small change next to what you're facing. Best of luck to you and PLEASE stay close to us! This group can pull anyone through anything! Reenie
First - My sister just recently had hernia surgery for a hernia right at her belly button. It was botched and she lost her belly button. She was having just day surgery in and out. The problem was when she was made to leave the hospital that night with a temperature. It was badly infected. She is fine now just belly buttonless.
Second - I'm sorry to here your having problems stacy. That is a new one I've not heard about before. I hope everything works out for you. Reenie is right (I've heard her say that before about keeping track of our health). When do you have the new surgery? How long will you be in the operating room? You must be scared but as long as your trust your doctor you will know your in good hands. I hope your recovery is quick and your back to your old self in no time. Keep in touch with all of us. I'm amazed at how I can read these posts and always find help if I have a question or issue.
Reenie your going to be fine. Your all in my prayers. good luck and god bless, pam
Stacy,
Congrats on your great success!! Yes, I have heard of this problem &
what your Doc is doing is basically a revision to your original surgury. It
should not be a problem & you will feel so much better. You should have
less recovery time than when you had the original surgury from what I
have heard. As Reenie said, If your Doctor is Good at what he does, You
are in great hands & will be just fine. Do keep us posted & let us know
when you are having surgery. This board will get you through anything.
You were smart to let us know about your matter.
Prayers are headed your way for a very quick recovery.
Marilyn, the Bearlady
