O My! I seem to have gotten old when I wasn't looking!

I went to get my eyes checked since my night vision does not seem to be what it was. I had not had my eyes checked in at least 10 years. I had RK surgery in one eye about 15 years ago to correct nearsightedness, leaving the other eye for reading. It has worked out well, until lately when my vision was slipping a bit. I figured they could do an "Enhancement" laser surgery on the RK eye and I might have to give in to reading glasses. Well, not so! It seems I have cataracts in both eyes! (And I thought only OLD people go those!!!) No wonder I have not felt safe driving at night!!!! I get cataract surgery next week in the reading eye and then will have to schedule the other one!!! I am not really worried--just outraged at another encroachment of age!!! Sheesh! Joy

Sorry to hear about your eyes, but, at least you are getting them fixed. I have been in glasses since I hit 40 & now can't see dittily without them. So now it's bifocals & all the time except sleeping. Hope you can get away without them after your surgery. Good Luck & good thoughts & prayers for your quick recovery. Marilyn, the Bearlady

You'll be fine, Joy, don't stress surgery after all you've been through and accomplished! I have a pair of 1.50 reading glasses in every single room of my house - doubled-up in both the bedroom and bathrooms! Getting old can be really sucky but we just have to make the best of it. Be well, my friend. M.

Hello Joy, I had an old moment myself this past week. I"m on the road all day and drink alot of decaf coffee. I stopped at a new dunkin donuts and this young whiper snapper behind the counter handed me my coffee then took a look at me and said O I'm sorry mam (that was one point against him calling me mam!) I forgot to give you your senior discount!!!!!!!!! I am only 54. I sputtered and said senior discount!?!....then thought about it and said how much is it??? I did not refuse a senior discount. I'm sorry I am cheap but I also am not a senior, yet. I know that now that I do not have the weight streatching out all those wrinkles that I do look my age. I use to enjoy everyone sayign to me you dont' look your age but not anymore now I get the senior discount! Oh well at least they do tell me you great for soemoen your age hahahahahahaha
