Well Haven't had her yet. My c-section is scheduled for this thursday June 21st first day of summer at 11:30am. I am SOOOO ready!!! I have had such issues with this pregnancy! Including a trip to the hospital. You guys I thought I was going to die! I've been having this burning pain in my stomach in which my ob said was constipation but I had my doubts, one because I was going to the bathroom, not as much but...things were uh..moving along. What I noticed was that when I ate something... And I'm talking something small not overdoing anything and wouldn't matter what as it varied... about 1/2 hour later this pain would start in my upper abdomen. Felt just like when you have that burning pain from an ulcer. WELL the pain would get really bad and would last about an hour. Which is an hour of constant walking because if I stopped the pain was too excruciating. About 4 times I was just in tears from the pain. But it always would subside. Well about a week ago I ate something and then felt nauseous and threw up a little bit Oh My Gosh! I was in the most excruciating pain in my life!!! I was going insane the burning and pain in my back and the pressure... you know how you hear those horror stories here when people that have had weight loss surgery get those abdomnial pains and dies from it because something gets twisted... I swore that was what was happening to me because the pressure and pain was so bad. It felt like my stomach was going to burst! and I SWEAR it wasn't because I ate alot. I hardly had anything that would fill me up like that. at any rate my husband called the ambulance and I started to get a bit short of breath. I was scared for the baby and just scared period. I never felt that type of pain before. I finally got to the hospital and the doc that was there gave me this horribly strong liquid and it worked almost automatically! I swear she was my angel. Turns out that I had an extremely severe attack of gastritis she said I have acid reflux which hits me at night which is unfortunately the worst. For some reason the people that get the attacks at night tend to get them 10 fold. Weird. But we are all hoping that once the baby is born it will go away. She gave me nexium but I haven't wanted to take it because the nexium warns that you cannot breastfeed if you take it... SOOO... I haven't. I have had one more attack but it was MUCH MUCH milder and I had an emergency supply of the liquid on hand and took it and stopped the attack. I have one emergency supply of the liquid in case I have an attack so now I'm afraid to eat because I will have to use my last one! But so far so good. All day today my tummy has been a bit irritated. Each time I ate something it burned a little. But I never got an attack. So that is good Aside from that... she is just bursting me! my belly is so tight! I'm measuring a week ahead of schedule so I am actually measuring a week overdue!!! yikes! Not looking forward to the c-section. They have to staple me partly because they are going over my other c-section scar and then partly because of the stupid loose skin that I have and just love so damned much. Can't wait to get that taken care of one day! at anyrate I will be so glad to have her finally. I'm praying this acid reflux thing goes away. I never had that before and had NO idea it could cause that kind of excruciting pain. I just thought it was like a burning sensation in your chest... like bad heartburn. but heck no! It was like excruciating pain in the upper abdomen and it goes into your back! Felt like my darn back was breaking on top of my belly bursting! SHEESH!!! once she is born and I'm healed up I'm still going to my wls doc and will ask her to check out my pouch...just to be on the safe side and check things out there. I hear its rare for people to get an ulcer in the pouch but not unheard of. Well Enough moaning and groaning like an ol' crone. The little one will be here in just a few days! I'm washing and cleaning and washing some more getting ready for her arrival and making sure ALL laundry is done for the boy and husband so they will be set. (and on their own!) Hope everyone is doing well! ((hugs)) Elizabeth M

I'm so glad you're ok and that this is nothing life-threatening. Now, for the next 72 hours, you are under Dr. Reenie's orders to rest your body, quiet your mind, and focus all your energy on bringing your baby daughter into the world. Please ask your husband to post to us, 'lizbet, that everything is ok. I hope you feel my great big strong virtual hug and I will think super good thoughts...love to you and yours, sweetie. M.

I think June 21st is a perfect birthday! I hope your acid reflux is indeed a "symptom of the pregnancy"! Blessings for a peaceful birth and un-eventful recovery! ((hugs)) Nic

I'm curious--did your WLS doctor remove your gall bladder? That sounds like a gll bladder attack to me. Pregnancy can trigger them. If the pain does not go away with delivery (and you still have a gb), have that checked. Hang in there--it won't be too much longer! June 21 is my daughters birthday... Joy

I have never had a kid before, but, what you are saying sounds like a gallbaldder attack to me as well. For sure have that checked out after your baby is here!!. Best of luck to all of you!! Marilyn, the Bearlady

Elizabeth, I'm glad you're feeling better. I pray you and the baby will be fine and that you will not have anymore problems after she gets here. Your problem does sound like gallbladder. I had mine out before my WLS. But I've had several bad episodes that felt like a gallbladder attack since surgery. I had my surgery March 2004 and I was in the hospital in Dec. 2004 for 2 days and they never did fine out what was causeing my pain. Judy

I'm so excited about our first baby. Can't wait to hear that she has arrived. You might also want to get your pancreas checked after this is all done and said if the pain doesn't go away. I've had a couple of pancreatitis attacks and they're no fun at all. Hugs, Connie
