Skinny on the TT

So I had my Belt lipectomy about 3 weeks ago now. Things are going very well and I am back to work on light duty. I can definately say a few things about this procedure though. I think that it was a little more painful than the Gastric Bypass, however I have gotten over this a lot faster than I did the Bypass surgery. I am amazed at the new look and can' stop looking at it in the mirror. They removed 20 pounds of excess skin and fat and that takes my grand total to a loss of 245 pounds. It is so amazing to me how far I have come in 14 months. I would just like the gastric bypass surgery recommed this to you if you are considering it, as you will not be disappointed with the results. I know that I was very fearful of being unhappy with the results. I am so happy that I did this. Now I need about $7000 so I can do the upper body lift and arms ( I am taking donations if y'all are interested (j/k)). I am still a little bit sore, but it is not unbearable. Well if you have any questions for me shoot. Nick Thanks again for all of the prayers and support!!!!

I have my consult in July. I know it sounds crazy, but the PS who my Dr. wants me to use is so busy that he referred me in March and can't get in until July. I'm sure I won't be able to have surgery until probably Jan. of 06. Did your insurance help? I only took one week off after WLS. What do you think a reasonable amount of time off to expect with an office job? Thanks for the info.

I actually had a belt lipectomy. My insurance paid for the front and I had to pay for the back. I was off for just over 2 weeks with this and now have returned to work light duty. I work in a jail so I am light duty for a couple of weeks. My sirgeon told me that most people are off 2-3 weeks with office jobs. Nick

Nick, I'm so glad you're doing so well. My surgery is scheduled for 7/5 and so far I'm only scheduled for the TT, for a couple of reasons; (1) my hernias will be repaired at the same time so my PS says that will be "enough of a whammy"; and (2) my PS just didn't submit for any other approval, except for the breast lift, and he wants to do that at a separate time. I am going to push for either a full belt lipectomy on the 5th, or for the BL to happen at the same time. What's your thinking on this? Anyway, so glad you're on the mend and happy with the results. Take care, Reenie
