Facelift cosmetics

There are a bunch of cosmetics out there claiming to "lift and firm" up the skin. Has anyone actually had success with any of them? I'm looking for a non-surgical facelift! Joy (trying to turn back the clock!)

Joy, I've read much on Thermage or Therma-Cool. With the use of radio waves, the collagen layer of the skin is heated to the point of denaturing, thus encouraging a smoother collagen deposit and causing the production of more collagen in the area treated. The result is gradual (over two to six months) and still lets you look like you, only younger. Or so the propaganda says. I've used Avon Anew products for ages and think that it helps. My sister who is 8 years younger than me gets upset because people always ask us who is older. I also make sure that I use sunscreen and a night cream on my face during the day. Before there were all sorts of home microdermabrasion treatments, I spent about 900.00 on treatments for several months of treatments. I'm now using Origins microdermabrasion product at home and it works just as well. I've seriously thought about getting a chemical peel when I'm off work for a tummy tuck. I have sun spots on my face that I would love to get rid of. Let us know if you find anything worthwhile. Connie

Joy, there is a lady in my wls support group who had pretty saggy facial skin after losig and swears by a product made by Clinique, I can tell you, I dont know if its time or the product but her skin has definately firmed up and she looks great. I use all Clinque products on my face as well, their 3 step cleanser program, a nighttime renewal cream, and a daily defense cream with spf 25. I didnt have a lot of excess skin on my face or sagging after the weight loss, but people sure comment about how nice my skin is now and how fresh I look. I too like the look. Godd luck! Janelle

I've had some sagging since the weight loss too. My face has always been round and now it has angles. Who knew there was a chin in there??? Plus that chin has alittle clift in it too! My "chins" are starting to jump back into place. And my face while it has slight wrinkles doens't look too bad. Not like my tummy goodness sakes. Maybe I should rub some of the L'oreal stuff I use on there? I've been blessed with decent skin though and shouldn't really complain. Mine too didn't have alot of sagging so I dont' think I'll be approved for a TT, hense the savings account that I can't touch in another bank! I've always avoided the sun and used moisturzer plus blocks. My mom who is 85 looks much younger than she is in fact her hair didn't start to turn gray until she was in her late 60's and its just salt and pepper now. i'm sorry i'm blabbering. I think part of it is good genes as much as doing the moisturing and avoiding sun but I think its great that we have the options of lifts. I know someone who had one and looks unbelieveable! she had it because she was only in her mid 40's and seriously looked to be in her 60's. the change in her in looks and how she felt about her self was similar to me in my gastri by pass. i say go for it. good luck and god bless.

Hi Joy: I am using Strivectin SD after my facelift to get rid of the very fine lines on my face. So far the Strivectin SD has not made any difference. So I suggest trying something other than that. It was pricey at $150.00 for 6oz, which is a 6 mos. supply. Let me know if you find the miracle cream. Thanks, Pat/Louise PS - I am using my actual first name (Pat) and will eventually drop the Louise.
