SNICKERS BAR!!!
Hi guys!
I just ate a snickers bar. I know I know
280 calories that I will be busting my butt over at the gym to work off.
sheesh. BUT it was one of those cravings that just would not go away SO instead of eating everything under the sun and not satisfying myself I decided to CAVE totally and utterly and eat a snickers bar. I thought... ok half now and half later. Sha right! I ate the whole stupid thing. And let me tell you BLECH!!! I am soooooo nauseous. I thought to myself when I was done. "uh oh you're guunna beee in troooobbbllleee!" and MAN am I nauseous! YAY!! I AM SO GLAD! I have been able to eat a whole donught and feel NOTHING. I am SO glad that I am sick over this candy bar! I am excited to be able to say that there definitely is some remaining use of my tool! Wooo hooo to the nausea but eeeeggaaddsss... to the feeling and sleepiness... I will be struggling like mad to stay awake in about 20 minutes. The nausea will subside replaced with a small mini comma!!!
Welp just wanted to share!!!!
Won't be doing snickers for a LOONNNGGG time.... ugh already starting to yawn even with the nausea! YAY!
just so excited my pouch is still workin!

Elizabeth,
You crack me up. I was just thinking about something similar this morning. Pre-surgery, I was never a sweets eater. I really couldn't have cared less for chocolate. Yea, I'm strange. Anyway, at about the 6th month, I really started fighting chocolate demons. I had these unbelievable chocolate cravings and I do dump so it was a constant battle.
Then I got hooked on Starbucks' iced lattes. I don't want to pay the $4.00 a piece and don't want all of the milk that they put in them so started making them at home. I use some fresh ground expresso beans to brew a strong pot of coffee. After the pot cools a little, I mix the coffee with ice, 1/2 a shot of sugar free caramel syrup and 1/2 a shot of sugar free chocolate syrup and then top it all off with a splash of skim milk. I get the syrups at Cost Plus World Market. I put the pot in the fridge so I have the coffee made for the next couple of days.
Just one of these puppies in the morning seems to have curbed my appetite for chocolate and sweet beverages like soda or juice. Why this works for me is a mystery because I've never been a coffee drinker. I don't think I've wanted any kind of candy or cake since I started drinking these a couple of months ago.
Hope you feel better!
Connie
You know, I stayed away from sugar for the longest time. Now, when we go out for dinner, we order one dessert to be split between 2 or three people...and there is always some left over. I have a few forkfulls and I'm done. As one of the guys at work says....I am the "queen of the doggie bag." I don't even eat half a meal when I go out, but I always have a taste of dessert. When I was heavy, I would not THINK of eating any kind of dessert, and I always cleaned my plate. I get on the scale every morning, like a ritual. I'm pretty much at goal at this point, and I'll be glad to just stay the same. Originally, I had wanted to lose 10 more pounds, but at 5'6" and a size 6 or 8, I really don't think it's necessary. At this point in the process, I think I have less of an emphasis on food, although I am careful and will always read labels and watch my protein until the day I die. I eat a little bit of this and a little bit of that...and if I want to taste something, I don't deprive myself. I recently met a woman who had wls about 10 years ago and has kept her weight off. Her secret is to eat what you want, but in small amounts. I think the ability to do this has a lot to do with dealing with the demons that got us heavy to begin with. I think that once these issues are dealt with, then the control part becomes easier. Would I have eaten the Snickers bar? Well, I probably would have given in to the craving way before you (you strong willed girl you!), but I probably would have eaten half. SF FF chocolate pudding seems to calm the chocolate monster. So does Swiss Miss Diet Hot Chocolate with Calcium. I've recently become hooked on turkey jerky....GREAT source of protein, more protein than the beef jerky...but I worry about the sodium somewhat. South Beach Cereal Bars are my best friend. So are the Power Crunch cookies they advertise on this site...they are AWESOME. I still have a half cup of cottage cheese and a half cup of carb control yogurt every day, usually mid day. I'm glad you shared your candy experience, and I thank you for it. I'd like to hear more about what people are eating and how it affects them at this point in the process. I think, in the long run, it helps us all.
Take care and be well!
Joan
I'm "Snickering" at your post Elizabeth, because lately I've been having cravings for M&Ms.......what's up with that???? I never really cared much for candy and though I don't get sick from them, they make my tummy wombley..... I really think that I'm losing what's left of my sanity! I think that I'll go cut out some paper dolls now bye!!

snickers bars, baby ruths, butterfingers, m&m's, hershy bars anyting chocolate well they were my diet. sweets was what i ate morning noon an night. I still have the cravings for sweets but the kinds of sweets i crave now are different than before. i don't crave chocolate that much anymore. now its prunes. i crave the sweetness of prunes. and we all know what happens if we eat too many of those little puppies! so it solves another one of our problems! i do buy some of the sugar free chocolates. my daughter eats them! i have bags and bags of every kind of sugar free choclates tha tyou could imagine and i have one maybe just one a week. just one piece! not the bag! silly isn't it? i dont' know what they did but i'm glad that they did it cause its working for me. I did have a twizzlers moment ate 3 pieces of twizzlers and throw the whole bag away. it was dangerous for me to keep it in the house. another thing that i can't have in the house is cheeto's. while they were yummy before for some reason now they taste delisious. I also crave salt. My blood levels and blood presure are just fine its just now like I'm on a mega PMS thing were you got to eat a ton of salt. I could buy big salty pretzels and lick them all day without touching the pretzel!
