Hey LizzieBeth (sorry, that's what I used to call my older daughter of the same name!!).......
While the confessional is open for business, I have a couple of "Welps" of my own to fess up to:
My younger daughter, Nancy, made homemade pancakes from scratch as a Mother's day breakfast treat. The bad news is that I didn't stay on the sidelines for that one.... The good news is that I had the sense to have some fat-free cottage cheese with sliced strawberries first. This at least, gave me some fruit and protein and kept me from going totally "Gonzo" on the pancakes. I shouldn't have had any, but it could have been worse (I had 3 small ones). I was good the rest of the day until late last night at work when I raided the snack machine and had a 4-pack of Oreos. What a dope!! Oh well, I took an extra-long walk today and I'm determined to eat nothing bad. Once again, the key is to accept the fact that we will have bad days and commit ourselves to go back to our regular routine and not to string a bunch of bad days together!!
Cheers
Mike
yep...its make up time now.
Do you sense a little bit of empowerment? I have been feeling more in control than ever before. I mean yep I really caved yesterday but I am not afraid like I use to be... I think this is the first time that I feel in control of my food. I expected to feel horrendous hunger cravings & anxiety from the sweets today, but THANKFULLY I dont have any (yet), and I feel more in control. Maybe because I am so determined now to get the weight off. Even with yesterday I am on my way to loosing another pound. If I drop another .2 and I will have lost another pound
I'll take what I can get!!! I have "trained" myself to love broccoli (never thought that would be possible!!!) oh and grapes! My "grazing" foods. The whole grazing thing is what always did it for me. Now that I replaced grazing on carbs with grazing on broccoli...I dont feel much like grazing anymore! Woo hoo!
I have been keeping away from the TV too...the vegetation in my yard is growing!
I now have 2 tomato plants, 1 blackberry plant, 1 blueberry plant, 1 strawberry plant a rose bush and a flower bed in the front, lavender, herbs, pumpkins starting to sprout, garlic, onions...
I just want to keep planting to keep busy!
I worked out today...really had to drag myself there since I really didnt feel like it. But I thought about Maureens sweet post and I just did what I had to do! Lifted those weights and did some cardio on the eliptical!
Heres to all of us!
Sorry Im rambling so much today!

I've had some sort of intestinal thing for the last week or so, so have been very careful with what I ate. I did pretty well for about 7 days. Yesterday was the first day that my stomach didn't revolt when I put something in it and people just had to get out of my way. Anyone putting themselves between me and food was likely to get hurt. Most of what I ate was ham so I'm carrying lots of water weight today. I also loaded up on pickles and black olives. I can't imagine how much sodium I loaded into my body. The other thing I should have walked past was a mini croissant.
After my feeding frenzy, I drug myself to the gym and did two aerobics classes and 1/2 hour of ab work. Hopefully that will help some of the damage.
I think you're doing great. You only fail when you stop trying.
Hugs,
Connie
Bless me, Marchers, for I have sinned....
Thursday is my birthday and my boyfriend came down to take me to lunch. First, he walked in with a basket of flowers and a sesame bagel with cream cheese. Ate half the bagel. Then we went to this REALLY COOL Cuban restaurant in Atlantic City for lunch. Ate part of an appetizer that I didn't even know what it was. I know it had some grilled tuna in it, and guava in a coconut shell. Fascinating. Then we split a dinner----this fabulous skirt steak seasoned perfectly, beans in this great spicy cuban sauce and garlic potatoes. And, of course, a glass of wine. (at least we split the dinner). Then, upon my return from the ladies room, there was chocolate cake with rum vanilla ice cream and rice pudding on the table. had half the chocolate thingie and a couple of teaspoons of rice pudding. Even though I was a VERY BAD girl, I could still recall a time when I could have eaten ALL of EVERYTHING on this list. Looks like salad for dinner for me.....
