Nice news
Many of you may have noted that after I completed my 3 mile and 1 mile runs the other week that I had a picture taken of myself and my family. I made up a card on the computer with the picture and sent one to my Dr. and one to the surgical recovery floor at my hospital. Anyway, I got a call with a request to reprint my picture in the employee newsletter and they did a little interview. They just liked that I expressed my gratitude and wanted to pass along my story to the employees to remind them what influence they have with people. Just thought I would pass it along and wish you all the best.
Ken, your story of the run really inspired me, as did Connie's post about running a mile, so I kicked it up a notch in my daily workout; I have set a goal to run a mile without stopping...no time frame, just moving toward that goal. Right now, I'm on the treadmill for 2 miles and I alternate, run for 2 minutes, walk for 1, run for 2, walk for 1, until I go the distance. I plan to bump that up every wee****il I'm running the whole damn thing. Thanks for the spark that lit my fire! Reenie
Glad I could help. If you are interested you can go to runningplanet.com. Once there they have under the training section a great walk/run plan that helps you get to the point of running. I goes along very well, and it was how I got to the point that I could actually train for the 5K. I don't love running, but I like what it does for me. I'm not that good at it, but I plug along. And in order to stay motivated, I have to have a goal. So, now I training for a 10K( 6.2) this summer, and then ultimately a half marathon next year.
