Snapping back to good habits

My boyfriend thinks i am nuts, but i have placed a thick rubber band on my wrist, and everytime i touch food i should not have, i snapped the rubber band, to remind me not to eat certian things. I am so close to goal and it seems that these last 30 lbs are the hardest to lose. Today i am returning to the basics, and am committed to lose. I had a cup of chicken brooth and some cheese for breakfast. I am swearing off carbs totally, so that i can get beyond the stall i have with my weight loss. My mom is doing the rubber band trick to stop smoking. I think that so far the worst thing about WLS has been my best friend never making a single comment about the weight i have lost. It is like she is ignorring me about it, as is my soon to be x-hubby. That is why we have split, because he just doesn't seem to notice. A simple, honey you look good would have been enough, but all i got so far was a speach telling me not to wear my 11 year old daughters pants. Thanks for reading my ramblings.

Tanya. Been There Done that regarding the boyfriend issue. Mine has never said to me in the 13 months since surgury, Hey you look good or anything about what i have accomplished. That is why I am moving by myself at the end of the month. I can relate, just once in awhile hey you look good. Iget it from everyone else around me, but never from him. So I no how you feel. This is the hardest time of this WLS time, so Hang in there & stay with the no carb it works. I had to do that too, & I am back on the losing side of things. Marilyn, the Bearlady

Good luck with your strategy, Tanya. It seems that the people who have the hardest time with our transformations are those closest to us - those who are hugely invested in being involved with us. They just don't know who we are anymore or where they fit into the new Big Picture. Of course, I'm generalizing and this is not true across the board but seems pretty common. I applaud your courage to move on in your relationships, that takes a lot of guts. Good luck! Reenie
