Yesterday i stopped in to se a friend of mine who had WLS 3 years ago. SHe dropped alot of her weight, but never got smaller then a size 16. I know that is still great from the size 4x she used to wear. Yesterday i noticed she has gained some back. She told me she is in a size 20 again. She is also back to the bad habits. Soda, carbs, whatever else she can eat. I told her summer is almost here and if she needs a walking buddy, i am here. I have 25 lbs left to go, and they are clinging to me for dear life. I also went to the bar last nite with my mom, and there was a guy there who works with my brother, and he wa****ting on me, and my brother has already called me this morning from work cuz this guy was begging him for a date with me. His reply was "i am not my sisters party pimp" And my brother just wanted to know why his friends are all crushing on me, and i told him its because God skipped givig my brothers the cuteness genes, and he just has to deal with his ugly mug. (and his skinny bony butt!)

Tanya, I work with some people who had wls several years ago and have gained back a great deal of their weight. I feel horrible for them, but it serves as a constant reminder that I can blow this if I'm not careful. Glad you had a good time last night. Connie

Tanya, That's exactly why our Doc's out here preach to us to change the way you eat & think to keep this weight off. Everyone must use this tool thats given to us right or they will gain back most if not all of their weight loss. Most Doc's don't have a after program like our do & its so important. We have been given 9 rules to follow & boy to they work if they are followed. Some just do the surgury & leave the rest to you. Not Fair, but true. Make sure you follow the guidelines you have done to get you this far so it doesn't happen to you. By the way, go on that date, it sounds like you will have a great time. Marilyn, the Bearlady

it is just another reminder that, as marilyn said, this is only a tool. I need to start using it better myself.

Karen Here is the Nine rules from my Doc, They work very well. How To Eat, After Surgery Post-Operative Diet 1. THREE MEALS PER DAY (Not FIVE, not TWO...THREE!) 2. DO NOT EXCEED FOUR OUNCES PER MEAL (Two to two and one half should be enough; if in doubt, weigh your meals before serving.) 3. SOLID FOODS ("Chew Foods") NOT SOFT OR LIQUID FOODS (No slippery foods) 4. NO CARBONATED BEVERAGES (Not even diet sodas!) (Don't pop your staples or stretch your pouch!) 5. AT LEAST 30 MINUTES PER MEAL (Don't INHALE your food) 6. DON'T EAT WHILE DOING ANYTHING ELSE (No distractions. Be aware of what is passing through your lips at all times) 7. LIQUIDS FIRST...PAUSE...THEN SOLID FOODS (Don't mix; as space is limited, since liquids empty more rapidly than solids, drink first, then eat. Allow 30-45 minutes after solids to take more liquids) 8. YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR WEIGHT CHOOSE FOODS WISELY; SPACE IS LIMITED 9. RENEW YOUR COMMITTMENT EVERY DAY! Marilyn...what are the 9 rules? My doc is one who gives no guidance after surgery. I've done fine because I read what everyone else says. I've met my goal, but I want to do what it takes to keep it off. I hope you'll share the rules with me. Dena
