I ran a mile today. Holy cow! Never in my life have I run a mile. I can do two hours of aerobics, but for some reason, I could never run more than a 1/4 mile. This time I just pushed through it and was on my way. I would have kept going, but the band dude called and I stopped to talk to him. Next 5K I participate in, I'm going to run instead of walk. I'm even thinking about a mini-triathalon. OK, that was just a moment of insanity. No triathalon, mini or otherwise. I see the band dude again on Friday. We'll see how this goes. Just had to share the running news. Connie

heck you'll be hitting that triathalon soon enough! Go Connie!!!!! I always am amazed when I run even a few feet. I race with my son all the time and he cracks up so much he cant even move he goes all zig zag and gets all excited (hes 6). Its too funny! He's just not use to me running every time I race him.

That's what I'm talkin bout !!! That's impressive, Connie. I have only attempted a few short 100 yard or so runs during my daily walks. My knees are not totally happy with running at this stage. A WHOLE MILE??!!!! You the man.....er.....woman......er.......... well...... you know what I mean!!! Great job kiddo!!! I go now. Mike

Your grit is the stuff of Hemmingway novels, Connie. You and Ken just knock me out. I am so incredibly proud of you and your accomplishments. We gotta talk! Love, Reenie

Look at you!!! I am so impressed Connie! I just can't get my mindset into one of running....don't know why. I think it's something that goes back to childhood! Anyway, I am so happy for you. My friend here at work has been doing a lot of running and MAN does she look good! She lost her weight without the surgery but still had a lot of firming up to do. She set her mind to it this year and she ran a 10 mile race recently. I was so proud of her...and you! Keep up the great work! Dina

Hip-Hip-Hooray!!! What an accomplishment for you. I too was running, but since having the flair up withthe abdominal flap staph infections the pain while running was too intense, so I am bak to walking until it clears. Isnt it a GREAT feeling, and such a freedom? Keep pushing on and soon you will be at 2,3, and 4 miles. Once you get to 3 the rest is all downhill.....well not downhill, but gets easier. I am walking a marathon on June 4th and looking forward to it. a year a go I would ahve never believed it true, would you? Run Forest Run!!!!!!!! Janelle

Yes, it's me - I still lurk and I ALWAYS check out what you have to say. You crack me up, sista! My secret goal was to run 1 mile without stopping. I haven't even attempted it...my boobs would knock me unconscious in the process, so perhaps once I get "the girls" lifted (along with the rest of me), I'll try the running thing. I have two very strong mottos that I live by - one is that "I won't run unless someone is chasing me with a large knife", the other is for my driving personality - "I'm not on the road to make friends". So - good for you for running. You are and always will be my inspiration! You go girl!!! ;o) Hugs! -Wendy
