taking a poll...
I don't eat protein bars much anymore, but there are a few I like.
Atkins Chocolate Peanut Butter goes well with a sip of coffee (okay, a hold over from my Atkins days where I drank with my meals, but I still gotta have a sip to compliment the taste! )
Metabolift makes some really fantastic bars in chocolate mint and chocolate that were wonderful. Last time I had them years ago was when they put a little Ephedra in them, but I suspect they still make them now without it. They are incredible tasting!
I adore the Carbwell breakfast bars. They have soy nuts in them so they are crunchy and chewy. They aren't super low carb though and they have 9 grams of protein as opposed to about 20 for the other brands out there. But they don't taste the least bit proteiny. Another one that is really good is the Apple Crunch breakfast bar by Atkins. I think it might be higher in protein than the Carbwell.
Otherwise, I rely on jerky and other such things to get concentrated protein. I'm a bit burned out on protein bars as such anymore....

Joan,
I have found the best...best...protein bars! They have 12 grams of protein. They are by a company called Glenny. I have copied/pasted info below. I purchase them from the company by the box. I have found them at Walgreens and Pamidia. I love the brownie-cheesecake and the peanut carmel. These bars are so much smaller and better than any of the Adkins. They are pretty close to a candy bar.
Also my latest protein find is by GenSoy. They are Soy Crisps and Soy Crisps. Both can be found in the chip isle or rice cake isle at Meijers, Farmer Jacks. I ususally go to Whole Foods-they cost a little less there. The BBQ and Ranch, Salt and Pepper are the favorites. GenSoy also has a mint chocolate bar that is very good.

Joan,
My favorite are the Power Crunch bars...the Vanilla and the Triple Chocolate are my all time favorites. 14 grams of protein per bar (cookie) They recently seemed to have changed the name of them to Power Crunch Cookies but I still think of them as bars. There's a link at the bottom of this page where you can order them from, at the smarthealthstore.com. They've got the lowest price on the on the internet...at least that I've found.
I also like the Carbwell bars (now known as South Beach bars) and the Q-Smart bars. All can be bought at your local Wal-mart. I've yet to find a protein bar - Pria - Zone - Power Bar - Tri-o-plex - you get my drift - that I can tolerate. Those bars seem to hit my pouch like lead and really hurt for quite awhile afterwards.
Hope this helps!
