Such a Good Mood

Rambling Ahead... I'm in such a good mood this morning and just wanted to share it. Nothing monumental happened and nothing out of the ordinary going on, I'm just in a good mood. I was up until 3:00 cleaning my home office, Q-tipping the corners, cleaning out old files, shredding credit card info, dusting, vacuuming, finishing my mother's taxes, finishing a website for one of the non-profits that I help out... I even wrestled the old dusty cover off the futon mattress and wrestled another one on. All the animals sat in rapt attention as I wrasseled, pushed, pulled and tugged. I was up at 6:00 this morning and have drained one of the waterfalls, picked up all the fallen oranges, watered the Bouganvilla, swept the patio, torn apart the deck box and cleaned it and on and on. I'm about to break an arm patting myself on the back for my brilliance. I have three water something or others in my backyard and go through the hassle of draining and cleaning them several times a year. It only took me five years to figure out that I could pump most of the water out with the pump that is in them by sticking the hose outside and then clean the rest with a wet/dry vac. I've been bailing with a bucket for 5 years. I swear sometimes it takes me a loooooong time. lol I came into the house and threw a serving of stuffed flounder in the microwave for breakfast. How cool is this? I'm marveling at the genius of this day and age. My life is so simple. I take a pre-packaged serving of fish out of my freezer, throw it in the microwave for 4 minutes, throw away the microwavable bag and I have a wonderful, high-protein meal. I'm in awe of the blessings that we have. I can eat a meal anytime I want. How many people are wondering where their next meal is coming from? I can stop eating after a reasonable serving. 13 months ago, I couldn't stop eating until I was stuffed. So many blessings and so little time to count them all. I used to be stop light phobic. When eating in my car, I'd stop chewing at lights because God forbid anyone think I got fat from eating. I never liked for people to see me eat. Somehow they were all supposed to think that I had some mysterious disease and not know that I was fat because I couldn't control what I was putting in my mouth. Now not only do I eat in my car, I sing - LOUD, badly, and with much gusto. I dance in my seat and wave my arms. I look the guy in the next car right in the eye and belt out a tune. I've found that I really do dance like no one's watching. I used to be so self-concious about dancing. I shuffled on the floor, moving as little as possible. I didn't want to draw attention to myself and worst of all was when I sweat like a pig. Big ol' sweaty girl out there on the dance floor. Now I'm all over the place. I'd like to think that I don't dance like Elaine on Seinfeld, but maybe I do. I just know I'm having fun. OK, I'm off to do some more work out back. What a glorious day it is. This afternoon I'm taking my neice and nephew to see Wiggles at the Civic Center. Yippee! Thousands of toddlers all in one place! Hugs to you all, Connie

ah a girl after my own heart! I swear I was a stop light eater too!!! I would stop chewing if someone looked!!! I SWEAR I just thought about that yesterday!!! I was in the car with my son and we were sharing starbursts. Yep I can eat them. ANYWAY.... I unwrapped the little square and someone was in the car next to me and looked and I just placed the little square right on my tounge and didnt feel guilty!!! I thought MAN this is too cool. I didnt have to worry about someone seeing me eat a little candy! I can also eat any chewy like stuff... sweedish fish are my favorite. I have a treat once in awhile. and they dont make me feel bad.. NOW the other day I had 1/2 of a muffin top and I cannot TELL you how sick I got!!! I thought I was going to have to leave work! Weird little pouches!!! Cleaning is great too. When I start cleaning ... and really start to get into it ... its like I cant stop!!! Its wonderful! AND its a great workout so you go! Yesterday it was soooo nice out...I just didnt know what to do with myself! I was so bored. I am definitely going to have to start a garden this year so that I can occupy myself. I had NO desire to sit and watch tv or go on the computer or be cooped up... I just wanted to do something outside! What a change from last year! Oh I guess I wanted to do it but physically I didnt and was too tired to even think about it. We definitely have to count our blessings. Its another beautiful day today. I think I am going to stop at the store and pick up a few gardening tools I am ready to get to work Oh and about the hose... that SO sounds like me... I can be so proud of my mechanical abilities ... but then other times... YEP it can take me soooo long... just sometimes those common sense things just dont pop out and that hose thing sounds exactly like something I would do. And have done actually...when I had this big 50 gallon fish tank. I was scooping milk jug by milk jug to clean the water. the tank was by a window and my father walked by and said... just .. why dont you put a hose in there and put the hose out the window. It had only been like 5 years of doing it the milk jug way. LOL.... ah well! we were getting the exercise! Have fun in the yard and at the screaming wiggles show! heh! (my son is 6 so I KNOW those shows) been to the elmo shows..

Well, for starters, I slaughtered the spelling. It's bougainvillea. There's a link below, but the pics on this site don't do justice. Mine are well over 10 feet tall in spots and profusely blooming. I have to prune regularly because they grow up into the tops of my orange trees. I really must take some pics in the daytime. http://www.prejeannursery.com/bougainvilleas.html I forgot to add this morning that I also planted a Hibiscus bush. I've been a busy bee today. Connie

Oh Man..... that hits a note....stop light phobic described me to a T!! God forbid someone should see the fat guy feeding his face! As always Connie, you picked a subject and nailed it!! And yes, it's great to enjoy the little things in life.....especially the ones that we couldn't enjoy a year ago! Mike

Confessions of a Stoplight Eater..... I can soooooooooooooooooo relate to this. It took me a long time to get to the point where I would eat at work (we frequently will have to eat lunch at our consoles), but that was actually bad for me because when I broke that barrier years ago it just made my weight problem worse! BUT, I have to say I have always been a car singer.....LOUD. And it doesn't really matter how fat I've been.....I will always sing along. I figure they can bite me hard if they think it weird that I'm enjoying my tunes. LOL! I'd like to think I don't sing bad though....but who knows, my singing might be akin to your dancing and hoping it's not like Elaine's. Dina
