Well, I have to fess up...I chickened out on that little sparkly number. I put the thing on and just stood there looking at myself in the mirror and said, "You can't go out in public like that!" Like I said, I've never worn a dress in my life that hit above my knees! Felt absolutely nekked! How silly is that??? Guess my head still has some catching up to do. Thanks, all, for the wonderful responses to my silly anniversary post - you're the best! Have a great day, everyone. Hugs, Reenie

You can wear it privately for your hubby. Have a special dinner with candle light at home one night.

Reenie, I'm sure you were gorgeous no matter what. Your head will catch up one of these days. What did the people at the eatery have to say when they saw the new you? Hugs, Connie

I cannot tell a lie, especially to you...we ended up not going anywhere! Jim thought he had made reservations for that night (Monday) but when we got to the restaurant they were closed - sign said closed on Mondays. I was so frustrated by the what-to-wear fiasco and then the restaurant not being opened, I suggested we just go home - which we did. Oh well, we'll make up for it.

Well, it is important to feel pretty rather than naked! But it is fun getting a bit outside our safety zone! I'm sure you chose well and looked great! Joy

You're right, Joy, what matters is feeling good about yourself no matter what. And I feel good in my leather jacket! Reenie

Well.... I wouldn't call it chickening out. You have to work within your own comfort zone. Your head will catch up soon as will all of ours. You still need to realize how far you have come. When I saw you at the support group meeting last night, I was totally floored!! Let's face it Maureen, we met just after surgery while wearing hospital johnnies and dragging around I.V. trees. Our fashion accessories consisted of plastic I.D. bracelets and pvc tubing! We don't have any secrets from each other!! The Maureen I saw last night was no less a transformation than a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis! Celebrate the "New You".... you're an ispiration! Mike

You are so funny -- and so kind, thanks for your positive thoughts. I was floored as well when you walked in. It's wild to think of where we both were just a little over a year ago; I remember walking around that corridor together tethered to our IV poles, shuffling around like a couple of ancient old pals. We were so large!!! How lucky we both are to have come so far with so little discomfort or complications. I only wish we would have had the presence of mind to take a "before" picture back then! Thanks, Mike, as always...Maureen

Reenie, You know what...Just 2 hours ago I went to Kohls and tried on a Daisy Fuentes top. WELL it was a tighter fit and it really did look sexy and was real cute. It was VERY low cut and clingy and wrapped around the boobs and hung a bit loose below not too loose though. It was white. I instantly thought about what my husband would think and it just sorta made me smile becuase he would NOT want me to wear that out! LOL! I really kinda liked it but KNEW that I was NOT AT ALL comfortable enough to wear it. It showed just a little too much of my lower stomach and I just felt like even though It looked good....In my head I knew that I would be uncomfortable and worried people were looking at my lower stomach or looking at my boobs too much... which ... even with the support booster bra that I had on just didnt sit well with me becuause deep inside I know how droopy they really are. Yep just being just a tad blunt here LOL hee hee. I still have alot more to loose 74 pounds and I just said to myself... maybe when I loose a little bit more. Its all head issues. Because probably when i loose more I will still think the same way. Hopefully I will be pleseantly surprised though. OK now I'm DEFINITELY going to work out when I get home. LOL! You are not a chicken...dont you fret about it... when the time comes you will be ready. we are still adjusting. so much has happened in such a short amount of time. I think our heads need to play catch up ((hugs))
