1 year out and extremely happy

Well... its a little more than one year out for me and I'm thrilled, my surgeon is thrilled and my family and friends are thrilled at the success of my surgery so far.... 5'6 preop weight 320 lbs postop weight (now) 170 lbs ladies & gentlemen - thats a 150lb loss in a year But the best news- My husband and I have been trying to conceive since 1999 with no luck. My GYN told me to lose 100 lbs before I even attempt to conceive... now we're 10 weeks pregnant with baby#1. The main reason I had this surgery was to get pregnant and we're so happy our family is finally growing. I was a little worried about how the weight gain during pregnancy will effect all the work I've done this year but now I'm just happy to be pregnant, I dont care if I gain every pound back! And the most awesome thing, my darling husband doesn't care if I gain every pound back either! He loves me with or without the weight. Just wanted to share the good news! -Janine

A baby! How fantastic. You don't necessarily have to gain a lot of weight. With my second baby, I gained all of 14 pounds, gave birth to a healthy 7 lb 11 oz baby and went on. I'm sure you'll be great! Congrats again, Joan
