March 17, 2004 . That was the day my life changed. Now at my 1 yr anniversary the honeymoon is over. I have lost 127 lbs. But I haven't lost any in the last few months. I now want to eat about every two hours. I don't eat things that are bad for me but I eat too often. Any ideas. This "head hunger" is getting the best of me!

when you feel hungry, load up on some form of liquid. I drink alot of unsweet tea when I feel like I am getting hungry. Usually it makes me feel full and not hungry.

I bought some chicken bullion and thought I might try that. I have to get a handle on this. I AM NOT GOING BACK WHERE I CAME FROM!!!!!!

Carol - I'm struggling with this too. I'm drinking a lot of water, tea, coffee...anything to keep my stomach full and my mouth busy. It sucks! Lissa

Funny, I talked to the Nutrionist about this on Tuesday. I seem to want to graze in the mornings. We came to the conclusion that I am not getting enough of protein for breakfast and that is why I think I am hungry. So she recommeneded some breakfast bars with 10 grams of protein. So my suggestion is look at what you have eaten when you get hungry or start to graze....do you need more protein?????????

I have been eating toast with peanut butter or an egg & chees . I may start drinking a protein drink and see if that helps. Mine seems to be in the afternoon. I always have protein for lunch . Either shrimp or tuna OR chicken salad. I guess I need to talk to the Dr. today when I go for my check-up today. Thanks, Carol

Carol, Happy St. Patrick's Day - what a fortuitous anniversary date! Congratulations on your 127 lb loss, that's wonderful. I second the idea of making sure you're getting enough protein, it is better at keeping people sated longer than carbs. And I think it's a good idea to talk to your doctor. A friend of mine who is 2 yrs post op is now hypoglycemic, and she does physically need to eat more frequently, so there's a chance it's not just in your head. I'd also like to put in a plug for excercise, which is really the best thing we can do for ourselves - it can suppress apetite, create a legitmate need for calories, relieve stress, improve circulation and stamina... so if you're not excercising, and you're medically able to do it, please consider doing it for two weeks - you may find your cravings dissipate, OR, you may find that your cravings are spurred by a legimate need, and that more food is necessary. Good luck to you! Jen M

Thanks for your response. I absoultely do excercise and have since about the second month. I am doing cardio about 3 times a week and weight training about 3 times a week. I just had my blood work done and everything looked good but I don't know if the check for hypoglycemia. carol
