Tummy Tuck
Just an update on my latest surgery. I had an incisional hernia repair and scar revision (Tummy Tuck)done on monday 03-14-2005. All went really good.Got to go home on tuesday afternoon. The incision goes from my sterum to my pubic area, then from hip to hip. I have 2 drains on each side, The drains are sewn in and have bulbs at the end that need to be emptied about every 12 hours and the liquid measured. The liquid looks like cherry koolaid. My belly button is very dark looking, Dr.Thomas said it will blister over, then peel, and then should return to normal. I am wearing 2 abdominal wraps (1 lower and 1 upper) and will have to wear them 24/7(24hours a day 7 days a week) for 6 weeks. If I sit or lay in one position for any length of time I get stiff and sore and have to work it out slowly to get it working right again.I am taking cipro to prevent infection and percocet for pain, I take 1 percocet with 2 tylenol and that seems to work for about 6 hours. I am feeling pretty good all in all.
Glad it's over for you and you'll soon be feeling great !! My brother in law is having TT in about 6 weeks, do you have any advise for him ? He's kinda nervous about it. Did they do anything to the mussels in your stomach or just remove the lose skin ? Anything you can tell us that would help would be appreciated. Thanks, Judy
I was nervous about it also, but it was really weird..... I was laying in the operating room waiting for the anesthesia and the next thing I know they are waking me up in the recovery room. I could'nt beleive it was over already.....even tho 2 hours had gone by. My surgeon did tighten the muscles up and he put a strip of mesh about 3 inches wide and 14 inches long down the center. Down the center is where they tighten the muscles up, the pull them together and the mesh will just reinforce this. Another thing that is really weird is that I dont have to suck my stomach in to make it flat, it is flat all on its own and my "lovehandles" are mostly gone now. I am really happy with the outcome. Your brother will have a nice flat tummy and that is well worth it.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/smile.gif)
