Need Help to jumpstart weight loss
Hello fellow Marchers. It has been a long time since getting on the message boards. Mostly because feeling like a failure due to not losing the last three months. Trust me. I am very happy with my loss but I was hoping to lose more. I want so badly to get below 200 my goal being 180 pounds. I currently weigh 215 (my start weight was 369).
So again I know I have done well but I just need to get these last thirty-five or so pounds off. Along with not losing the weight, I have started to allow myself to have carbs and sweets. Okay...there you are I said it. This is a hard thing for me to admit especially here.
Please give me tips on what to do to jump start of weight loss. I need to the help I can get.
Thank you so much!!
Wendy Ann
Wendy, the best advice I can offer is what I shared with Marilyn in my response to her question; please read back to my post ANNIVERSARY CHECK IN a couple of days ago. Hope that helps. We all know what to do. The hard part is doing it. This will remain truth for the rest of our lives. Take care. Reenie By the way, you look beautiful.
Wendy Ann,
I recently had a Tummy tuck and wasn't hungry for several days afterward. So I existed basically on Protein Shakes for those days. The reason I bring this up is during that time I apparently reset my "dumping" meter. Prior to that I had been gradually sneaking in more carbs and more "real" sugar sweets. That first time I had carbs after my TT I dumped HORRIBLY, same for sugar. So apparently during my days off of food my dump meter really did go back to that newly post-op setting.
I feel part of my food aversion after my TT was the newly created constricted space with the my abdominal cavity...and the binder I have to wear post-op. I still have some problems eating the quantity I did before my TT.
I know recently Elizabeth M went on the Stage 1 Diet for several days...I'm interested to see if she had similar results. Resetting her "dump meter".
I still advocate protein shakes - minimum of 100 grams every day.
I don't know if you ever dumped on carbs and sugar but it's probably worth looking in to if you did.
Good Luck!!

Hey Wendy,
I went through the exact same thing, here are a few things I did.
1. I changed my workout rout. from 5 days to 3 days and believe it or not for now it is working.
2. I am really trying to get in alot of protein sometimes I eat what I want but not to much.
3. Water Water and more water.
I really think it was the exercising. I started a really intense body sculpting class and went from 5 to days. Within 2 weeks after losing nothing for 2 months I dropped 5 lbs. Good Luck! Rhen
Hi Wendy,
Dont ever feel ashamed to "confess" we all confess on here. Especially ME!!!
I am always goofing up! EAting those sweets and carbs. Its hard we are back to square one. After loosing that initial 100 pounds its back to the drawing board again. One years worth of getting use to a new routine and even a year isnt really enough time. We are still learning!
I was stuck at 221-225 for 3-4 months myself! I did a liquid diet for 3 days. I had my protein and my vitamins and b12 and I would have a soup for lunch and dinner. Then after 3 days maybe add a salad to the mix. The weekend I would ease up and eat normal... then sunday give myself a snack. BUT not eat as much as before I started the liquid diet.
I lost 7 pounds in 5 days just recently. I had gained up to 224 and now am at 217! I am now starting a new liquid/soup diet for 3 days and will just keep on that cycle till I get to goal!
Just, if you decide to try this make sure you get in your vitamins and protein! Very important when you reduce your calories that much.
oh and your water. I use warm liquids to help with the cravings... I drink low carb chai tea and peppermint tea and decaf coffee all with half and half. That is my treat the half and half so I dont feel totally deprived
Anyways... so far it has worked for me. Everyone is very different though. I wish you all the best!!!
Elizabeth M

Hi Wendy Ann,
I am a fellow Marcher! I know what you mean. I haven't lost any weight
in a couple of months either. The head hunger is getting me. I just want to eat all of the time. I don't think my head knows what size my stomach is now! I do want you to know that you look so good now. You ar not even the same person! We just have to get it together and start doing what we KNOW we have to do to get the rest of this off of us! Good luck and God Bless
Carol
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! it feels so good to know that there are others out there like ourselves. it seems that there are many of us "marchies" that are going through this. it's been 3 weeks and i've been stuck at 220... it is bumming me out so bad. and i too am more hungry than ever and 'sneaking in' snacks more and more.... BUT (that's a big but - but not such a big butt) my snacks are a whole lot different than they used to be! i am trying to snack on lean protein and some 'good' carbs... but snacking is snacking is snacking, huh?
i am so glad that i decided to check this board and find out that I AM NOT ALONE. let's all try to get through this together... ANYTHING you find (any of you) that can help in this 'one year slump' thing, will be so appreciated by all of us.
thanks,
deb
