Wish me well
I know I can count on you guys for some well wishes as I complete the Police Officers Standards and Testing tomarrow. The POST exam is a two part test, one of which is a four hour written exam then other is being a 1.5 mile run, pushups, situps and a reach test. The beauty to all of this is that I know I can run the 1.5 miles as I go past that five times a week. However, I have to run it in under 13 minutes, which is around a nine minute mile pace, and I'm about ten minutes miles now. However, I thinking I can pick up the pace enough knowing that I only have 1.5 miles to run. I have to do 24 pushups and 40 situps in a minute, which won't be a problem. And the best part is that just a year ago, I don't know that I could have been able to walk 1.5 miles to save my life.
I hoping to make a career change into a law enforcement position, and passing the POST is the second part of the interview process. I know all of your good wishes will help propel me around the track tomarrow.
Hey Ken;
Here's all my best wishes coming at you!! I bet that a year ago you would not have imagined taking a test of this kind. I bet that you'll pass with flying colors. While I didn't try a career change, I took the plunge into a promotion to a supervisory position at my job at the same time I had the surgery last year. I figured that if I was into changing my life, I might as well go all out!! I haven't regretted either decision. I hope that everything works out for you. You've done a hell of a job improving your health, and I hope that you have equal success with the career move!! Good Luck and stay in touch.
Mike
