Dropping in size
I know that everyone is different but I still have a question. I just read the post from earlier about how we all love to shop. Well everyone seems to have really dropped in size, but me. I started out on surgery day at a 26/28 or 3x. I have since lost about 90 pounds (wi**** was more but I am stuck beyond belief). Now I am wearing a 16/18. I am thrilled to be able to wear a 16 but it has to be a womens 16 and there has to be some give or forget it.
I know that plateau is freaking me out but it seems to me that you all have dropped sizes much quicker than I and I was wondering what gives. I seem to have lost more in my face and shoulders but my hips and butt have made next to no change. It is very discouraging. Any suggestions?

Jane,
How is your exercise going? I really feel that is the key to losing more inches, especially on the lower half. I don't think you can honestly say that your hips and butt have made no change since you've gone from a 28 to a 16, even if it is still in women's sizes. That's pretty significant.

Jane,
I know how you feel. I started out in 24's and 3x's, have lost 93lbs and am just now getting into 18's. I see people in 12's, 10's and smaller. It makes me wonder what's up. But then I remember that at my smallest as an adult, I was wearing a 12/14 and that is only a couple of sizes below where I am now. I have about 38lbs. left to lose and will probably end up in 14's again when I get there. That is a good size for me. It's not about what size you wear but rather how healthy you are now. Like the others suggested, are you exercising? Cardio, weights, anything? That will make a huge difference in weight loss and weight distribution. Good luck in breaking that plateau and getting to where you want to be weight-wise.

Jane,
I feel for you because I have the same problem. My face and upper half look pretty good but my stomach and hips are still large. I weigh 178 lbs and I am just now getting into a 14. I still have 38 lbs to lose but I have not lost but 1 lb in the last 3 months, this may be it for me. I'de prefer to be a 10/12 but I look okay as is and am very healthy now, that was my main goal. I have a loss of 92 lbs for the year and think that it is great. I wish us both continued success.

I was going through the same thing with the weightloss stall and my surgeon had me to cut out carbs to 20g a day and do 100 + grams of protein everyday. I also had to increase my exercise a bit.
The internist in the office put me on a supplement called SPARK by dvocare. It is really working out ! (advocare.com) It is an amino acid / vitamin supplement which helps cut carb cravings and boosts energy / metabolism. It tastes great too...
Now I drink a shake at 5-6am after my workout (walking 2-4 miles) with Walk Away the Pounds or 30 min on my treadmill.
I eat 3 hrs later usually 1 egg and 2 strips of bacon.
I have a snack 2-3 hours later of a piece of meat or a boiled egg and them do the advocare drink.
I eat lunch at 1pm- grilled meat or homemade chili etc...
I eat a snack at 3pm -like pork rinds or cheese
I eat dinner at 5:30 -6pm and its grilled meat and 1 cup of romaine lettuce, shredded cheese and 1 chopped up egg.
I am averaging about 800-900 calories a day and 107-135 grams of protein. The protein train is not really hard if you prep a lot of different meats. This week I grilled a rack of ribs, steak, chicken breast, pork chops, made italian meatballs which I top with a slice of provolone, and also made a pot of chili.
I have enough stuff to choose from so I grab that when its time to eat. I allow my self 3 small cookies per day, which I packed in snack size ziplocks- but only if I have to have it... I have found myself snacking on cheese cubes, pork rinds, sf jello or popcicles...
I started this on Monday and I have dropped a pound a day so far...
Give it a try and see what happens. You have to stick with it though to see results...
