Donna, I can qualitatively, anecdotaly state -- it's the exercise -- or lack thereof that is thwarting any weight loss efforts. My loss has been at a virtual standstill for almost 3 months; I began a hard workout regimen at the gym last week: 25 minutes aerobics/cardio; 25 minutes weight training. Not only do I feel like a completely different person, I have lost 5 lbs. in less than 2 weeks! Hard physical activity jostles our sleeping metabolism and kicks it into high gear, resulting in a more efficient burn of energy/calories. The key is to be consistent and to keep it up. As soon as I let the exercise component of my program slip away, everything else follows suit. Good luck. You know, the easy part is done -- lack of hunger, small pouch, yadayadayada...now the really, really, break-a-sweat hard work begins. Ultimate success depends only on my level of commitment to it. Best of luck, keep going, you WILL do this if that's what you decide for yourself! Hugs, Reenie
Donna,
I am right there with you however I have been excercising. The only thing different is that I am taking in about 1100 calories per day. The last week I dropped it back down to the 800 cal range but alass no joy yet. Hopefuly it will happen soon. I have also looked in to hirering a trainer eventhough I have been working out about 3-days a week maybe I am not doing something right when I do. I am frustrated and willing to try paying money for advice.

Sounds like you are doing everything right, just mix it up a little, could you be gaining muscle, thats not a bad thing, I could use some more muscle.
I do remember my doctor saying when our bodies get to where they should be we will not lose no more, but I don't feel I am there yet so will keep on trying.. its a new way of life and I am just going to keep on going. I just keep thinking it will be easier when there isn't all this snow around. LOL But don't dispair you are doing your body right, be happy.

Sometimes I just wonder....
I'm also a size 6, sometimes a 4 depending on the cut. I want to lose 10 more pounds. I don't get my water in but I do drink decaf hot tea with splenda. Doesn't that count as water? I know I'm not exercising as I should...I'm having some time constrants right now. I WANT to lose the 10 lbs....but do I NEED to lose the 10 lbs? I still get really hungry the week before my period, and do increase intake, but it is still healthy food (raw veggies and extra protein bars or low carb yogurt). Being 5'6" and a size 6 is not a terrible thing. My BMI is within normal ranges. According to the weight charts, I am not obese and am considered a normal weight. Shouldn't I be happy with that? What is it within me that insists I weigh a certain number? Just food for thought here................

I think this is a new life style we have picked and we all want to get to that magic number , even if we feel great where we are at. I call it a modivation in our heads. We will go thruout life eating differently then others so we pick a number and no matter what age we do our best to get to it cause it makes us feel good about ourselves.. Yes we should feel great anyway. I think we all do but we all seem to have that want to be a certain size. I feel there is nothing wrong with that we all must have a goal, sometimes are goals are very hard on each of us but for me its what I want in my life....will make me feel complete.
