Bummer ...
Not to worry, not really a bad bummer .. but a bummer just the same. If you live in central Maryland the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Walk is a big deal every year. Either because you want to walk the bridge or you live on the Eastern shore and it messes up your life for a day!!! We live about 5 miles from the bridge (on the Western shore) and about a mile and a half from one of the 2 parking places (on this side of the bridge) for the walk. I was concerned about rain and woke up to a beautiful sunny day. We got ready and headed to the deli to get breakfast sandwiches. I discovered that it was a bit windy/chilly and maybe I needed jeans not shorts so we stopped back by the house for me to change. Our first clue that something was amiss should have been that there was not a lot of traffic on College Parkway and there was no one directing traffic when we got to the college That was when we thought to turn on the radio only to hear that the walk had been cancelled due to winds. They don't think it would be safe to have 20-50,000 people walking across the 4.3 mile bridge if the winds are going to gust to 35 mph. Go figure!!
I did my household chores (laundry and such) yesterday in preparation for the walk, so now Mr Mo and I can go out window shopping later. The NASCAR race last night was postponed until this afternoon, so maybe I'll even stay awake long enough to watch it!
Have a wonderful Sunday.
Hugs, Mo
