Liver enzymes too high
Have any of you have a problem with your enzymes being too high. I went in the hospital Dec. 29 with very bad stomach pains , I was in there from Wed. night till Friday , the pain lasted 22 hours . Anyway I have to go next week and have another ct scan and upper GI . My liver enzymes are too high. I know it's not from drinking , because I've never drank in my life. My PCP said he had no idea what is wrong , so he's sending me to a gastroenterologist (?) . My surgeon sent me for a didida scan a couple of weeks ago and it showed nothing. Y'all pray for me ! Judy
Judy,
My Mom has very high liver enzymes. She has been diagnosed with what is called Non-Alcoholic Steroidal Hepatitis, also called NASH, a form of Cyrosis. She was told it is from being obese. The liver becomes fatty, and our liver was not made to function with fat in it. She had various tests done including Ct scans, GI's and even a liver biopsy, ultimatley they told her to lose weight. I would wonder what your enzymes were before you lost any weight, it may just be coincidental that they found it now from your abdominal pain and as your body adjusts and you get closer to goal your enzymes will drop. Best wishes! Janelle
Judy,
When I had my surgery they said I had Cirosis (sp?). I too have never drank.
They did all they Hepitis tests and they were negative, they did a bioposy at surgery time. I was told by my surgeon that it is from a high fat diet causes the liver to harden. I am going to a gastroenterologist just to keep tabs on it. I do get "stomach" pains at times so I am not sure if it could be the liver, they only last a few minutes.
Let me know what you are told and good luck on your findings. Donna
