Here's my story in numbers: 332/176/150 Was 352 on 12/27/03 when I first saw Dr. Aranow ONE MONTH TO GO AND I AM HELL BENT TO GET MY NUMBERS IN THE 160s. That's my goal for 3/8/05 I invite you all to join in -- let's really break a sweat together on this last push to the 1 year anniversary! Take care, all. Love, Reenie

i had my 11 month follow up today. this are my stats 249/130/ depending on my lean mass right now I need a body composition done but i want to get to 120 or 115 This is what i was told to get unstuck: water loading can and can't work it depends on the individual stay away from sugar free and sugary sweet things they tend to make sugar cravings Coffee will make you have hunger cravings even decaf Breads will make sugar and hunger cravings Lowfat chesse or non fat cheese (which i can't stand) No sauces Keep the meat dense Turkey, chicken breast, beef (carne asada, steak), no flakey fish more dense fish like salmon shark, etc. eggs work for some not for others no soups cause they pass right thru no yogurt cause it passes right thru no cottage chesse cause it passes right thru pretty much anything mushy or flakey will pass right thru stick to food that is dense. get at least 60-100 oz of water a day. if you think you are hungry but it is head hunger down 8oz of water. If you drink propel water it down to 1 part propel 2 parts water. Get a least 45 min of cardio 5x a week. 23 heartbeats in 10 seconds. 3x a week some strength training. Don't get home and gorge all your calories at once break it up during the day. Don't eat 2-3 hrs. before you go to sleep. So i'm going to try this out. I let you know if I get to my goal of 120/115.

Here's my status check: My scale is reading between 207 and 212 lately, so I'll call it 210 for now. I began this journey at 354 and was 315 the morning of surgery. ( I don't tend to count my weight loss from the day of surgery as many people here do because that 39 lbs. I lost pre-op was hard work and every bit as meaningful to me as what came later). I am trying to get to 200 by the 1 year mark with an ultimate goal of 180 although I'll be more than happy to finish up anywhere below 200. Each pound is becoming a real fight these days for all of us which only proves that we are getting closer to "Normal Weight". "Normal Folks" have trouble losing just a few pounds and we need to adjust our thinking in this direction because we are all closer to "Overweight" than "Super Morbidly Obese" these days. That thought in itself is quite a jolt, isn't it??!!! Cheers Mike

Hey all! Almost 11 months out and I am curently at 179 lbs. My start weight was 268 lbs but my heighest was 272 lbs. I am losing about .5 lbs a month for the last three months but hope this isn't the end of the road. Even if it is, I am good with that. I am healthy and happy and that is all I asked for with this surgery anyhow- no complaints!! Take care and God bless to all. Dawn

Tomorrow's my birthday and the day after is my 11th month. This will be the first birthday of my "never diet on my birthday and fail" resolution I made for the new year. ... so slice me a piece of celebration! Anywho.... I started at 309. Yesterday the gym scale said 157 (and the angels sang). My doctor's goal for me is 144. I'm only 13 pounds away, but I would like to work at increasing my muscle mass instead of losing "weight". The problem is that I, like many folks, don't like to work out. ...so... wish me luck on that! I wish everyone lots of good news on the scale! CP 309/157/144 3/11/04 5' 7"

Okies guess Im close enough to my 11 month mark My highest known weight was 395. right now the scale has me at 261. My first goal is to get below 200 at my 16 month mark. I believe that is realistic and then hopefully by my two yr mark I will be about 160/150 somewhere around there

Way to go, Reenie. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm darned proud of you. Today is my anniversary. I started at 286 and I'm now 19 pounds from my tummy tuck goal at 169. I want to be at 150 when I go in for the deed. Not that anything has been approved yet. I have an appointment on Monday to start the process. I'm expecting a battle royale with the insurance company so am gearing up. I leave for Alaska on my one year anniversary date. I'd love to be at 160 by then, but I don't know if I can get rid of 9 pounds in a month. I'm gonna try. Love ya big time, Connie

3 more days and it will 11 months for me. I started my journey at 265 lbs. I weighed 244 the day of surgery, I now weigh 132 lbs! Now I'm just waiting to hear if I've been approved for my tummy tuck or not... I hate these waiting games!!!! Kelley 265/132 reached goal and beyond

My anniversary date is the 12th Sat. My highest was 284, my scale this morning read 153, but since I didn't weight on my scale before surgery I have my weight loss at 127. Crazy but it works for me. My surgeon's goal is 150 which I hope to get to by next month but my own personal goal at this point is 140 but it may adjust it depends on how I feel when I get there. The last couple of months have been really slow but yesterday I started a strength class and low and behold I dropped 2 lbs overnight so I think I will stick with this class and I am also going to add a pilates class as well. My future goals will be to watch the carbs, I think I have been veering to much in that direction and to concentrate on getting more protein back into my diet. I have been a little lax on this. Also I want to really concentrate on getting my muscle back because I severly lack that since the surgery.
