1st Post Op Plane Ride
Hello All,
I just returned from Denver and had a great time. Best of all I did not need to ask the flight attendant for the seat belt ext. I was able to sit and enjoy myself with plenty of room to spare. I could even walk down the aisle without turning sideways and didn't have to wait til the plane landed to go pottie
Just thought I would share my joy.

Isn't that great to feel comfortable no matter where you are? I'm taking my first plane ride since my surgery in a couple of weeks...and it's a long flight too. I flew right before my surgery and it was very uncomfortable. I didn't need the ext but I was very cramped. What a difference a year makes!
Take care,
Joan
I flew in December for the first time since surgery. I was estatic with my experience as well. I had room in my seat for my purse, was able to cross my legs and actually have the tray down flat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Did not need the extension for the seat belt and had about a foot left over on the regular belt. I was giggling as I realized all of this as I sat there. Others probably thought I needed to be committed.
Thanks for sharing your pleasure with us! It's just another reminder how nice it is to be able to feel "NORMAL"!! I love to be able to discover new reasons to be happy about this surgery. I haven't flown since my surgery, but I always remember it as a very uncomfortable experience. Enjoy the "NEW YOU" and continue sharing it with us!!

I so know how all of you feel. Last summer I took my nephew to a local ammusement park like I always do except last summer I was able to ride rides with him. Ive raised him since birth and he is now 7 and this was the first time I could ride the rides because I now fit. At first I was so afraid that we'd get to the ride and I still wouldn't fit. But soon after the first cpl of rides we were going all over the park seeing "which rides auntie could ride" There were only three that we ruled out and one of them wasn't a fitting issue it was an actual weight restriction. Can't wait till this summer hopefully he and I can hit all the rides in the park this time
It is also so neat to hear "wait up auntie" instead of " Ok auntie I'll wait for you"
